After reading your article this morning, I'm more confused as to why you would equate the Swiss vote on the minarets to our present dilemma here in the US.

Having lived in Geneva for three years and returning to the city every 4 to 6 months for the last 10 years, I have a better perspective on that issue.
Who are you trying to appease? The muslims? Islam? The relevance of the vote on minarets by a majority in another country has nothing to do with our Republic or our Constitution. The comparison of those two was insulting and I am tired of the bombardment of the poor muslims rights which they inflict on themselves and their "freedoms" here in America or elsewhere.

You have no idea what was happening there in Switzerland a Calvinist country until it opened it's borders to the European Union which is now over-run by the gypsies and muslims. (I refuse to use capitols on that word.... my choice....my freedom). What used to be a beautiful peaceful country has turned into brutal fighting for the religious rights which the country was founded.

You quoted the Wikipedia for a definition but, did you know what they had attached to those minarets? A horn which would blow 5 times a day for their prayers; that's what!!!!! So, church bells clang every hour.... big deal. Have you ever heard those horns and loud speakers blasting? You are a man and they have a different experience walking down a street full of muslims.... A woman; let alone an American woman is hawked. One would not expect that in Switzerland.... Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Istanbul, etc....YEA! Not, Switzerland. But, it happens and they are determined to take over that country too.

Switzerland was a haven for the downtrodden, those lost of a homeland country, those displaced by the Tyranny of which you wrote and is now being over run by the dictatorial group of which you were so sympathetic.

At least in Switzerland, the people have the opportunity to vote on an issue..... Here we vote for a representative who disregards the wishes of their constituents. !!!!!
