It’s Ba-ack!

We bet you thought the Public Option was gone.  Sadly, no.

A few senators are gathering signatures on a letter that asks Majority Leader Harry Reid to pass the public health care by reconciliation.  This takes a simple majority of 51 in the Senate.

You can see the letter here, and the list of Senators who are currently supporting it here.

As of this writing, twenty Senators support it.  So far Robert Casey, (D, PA) has not signed on, but of course Arlen Specter, (D, PA) has.

Democracy for America is encouraging Americans to contact their Senators to support it, so we’d best get to work–again.

Not to be outdone, House members have started their own chain letter.  One hundred twenty have signed on so far, including our own self-proclaimed “middle of the road,” “fiscally conservative,” “blue dog Democrat” Patrick Murphy (D, PA 8th.)  Here’s a link to the House list.

The letter to Reid claims that the public option will save billions and is “overwhelmingly popular.”

Let’s show Murphy, Casey and Specter that it is not.
