Harry Reid’s Fantasy World

If what Harry Reid says is nothing more than political spin and rhetoric, it can be easily dismissed. However, progressives such as Harry live in denial and, therefore, often believe what they say is true regardless of facts. It certainly seems that Harry is living in a fantasy world.

Regarding the passage of the health care bill, Harry told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren that “…everybody acknowledges with rare exception that what we did was terrific…. Even the Republicans have changed their tone” (http://tinyurl.com/ydztu7l). Concerning his re-election campaign for senator in Nevada, Harry said “We’re doing fine. The polls are fine”.

According to the latest Rasmussen poll (http://tinyurl.com/yecmynw), Harry is trailing three likely Republican challengers, two of them by more than 10%, and only 23% of the people have a favorable opinion of Harry. The poll also found that 62% of Nevada’s voters support repealing the recently passed health care law. That certainly doesn’t back up Harry’s understanding of the current situation.

Since the poll also revealed that 50% believe the average Tea Party member has a better understanding of America’s problems than the average member of Congress, it is not surprising that Harry seems out of touch with reality. The problem is that Harry and other progressives are working hard and fast to transform America into an idealistic notion that is at odds with reality and they have convinced themselves they are right.

It is hopeful that the upcoming elections will begin to eradicate Harry Reid’s fantasy world and bring Congress back into reality. Allowing that fantasy world to expand like a bubble will only make the eventual burst more catastrophic.
