Hispanic Lawmakers Seek DREAM Act Vote

Congressional Hispanic Caucus leaders huddled withPresident Barack Obama on Tuesday to discuss immigration issues and the lame-duck Congress, but no clear strategy emerged.

Obama and Hispanic Democrats reiterated their support for the DREAM Act, which would provide a path for citizenship for immigrant youths illegally brought into the United States before they were 16, and both called for the House and Senate to vote on the measure before Congress adjourns for the year.

“We need a clear Democratic commitment in order to persuade Republicans, who are needed to get us over the finish line, to step forward,” said Rep. Luís Gutierrez, D-Ill.

    And I raised my children to respect the law, rules, regulations. Someone tell me why?????? California unions have set up a fund for Nicky Diaz who admitted to coming into the country illegally, falsifying her background to get a social security number, lying every step of the way to reap U.S. benefits, had a job paying her $23.00 per hour and is protected by the unions due to pollitics. I raised my children to be truthful, honest, independent. Someone tell me why??? God help this country!!
