A Message from TJC President Jeff McGeary

Dear Patriot,
I trust you had a pleasant and relaxing Thanksgiving with family and friends. It’s hard to believe we are already into the holiday season and December has arrived!
2010 was a fantastic year for our cause. We made huge gains here in Pennsylvania and across the nation. I can’t thank you enough for all your hard work and dedication that propelled us to victory in the mid-term elections. From Rand Paul in Kentucky to Pat Toomey in Pennsylvania and our own Mike Fitzpatrick here in the 8th Congressional District, we have a solid team of liberty-minded and fiscally conservative public servants heading to Washington.
“The price of freedom is eternal vigilance” – Thomas Jefferson.
Our job now is accountability. I attended a meeting this week of local Tea Party leaders here in Bucks County and we discussed strategy to hold our representatives both in Harrisburg and Washington accountable. With your help, we intend to do just that.
In 2011, TJC will return to its issues-oriented educational meetings. Immigration will be our topic to address in the first quarter of next year. I am also planning now for a special meeting to present a key conservative leader from Europe; he is an elected member of the European Parliament and a front-line leader in the defense of our Western values and civilization.
Finally, I am happy to announce our 2nd Annual Christmas Party to be held on Monday, December 20th, 7pm at the Washington Crossing Inn. Those who joined us last year enjoyed good times and fellowship; please make plans to attend again! Congressman-elect Mike Fitzpatrick will be our guest speaker for the evening.
We need a head-count for the Christmas Party; the cost is $35 per person, which will include a fine spread of various foods including salads, salmon-filet, chicken francaise, vodka rigatoni, side dressings, vegetables and assorted pastries and desserts. Please PSVP to tjchostcommittee@hotmail.com with your name plus any guests.
We do have a lot to be thankful for and to celebrate. Please join with friends and your Tea Party family at the Thomas Jefferson Club for an evening of fellowship and good spirits. I know many of you could use a drink or two! 😉
I look forward to seeing you on December 20th!

All the best,
Jeff McGeary
President, Thomas Jefferson Club

PS – Thank you to so many of you who called the Philadelphia Mayor’s Office in response to the changing of the Christmas Village to the “Holiday” Village. At 6:40PM this evening the Mayor announced, “The Christmas Village is back…the sign will be back tomorrow.” In just three days we turned it around and that is impressive!
