Required Arabic Class in Schools on Hold

A $1.3 million grant from the Federal Language Assistance Program (FLAP) to Mansfield, Texas was slated to be used for instituting a “required” Arabic language and culture class in an intermediate and elementary school along with an optional class at a middle school and a high school. After parents complained that they were unaware of these plans, the project has been put on hold.

The Department of Education (DOE) has identified Arabic as a “language of the future”. Considering that fanatic Muslims and terrorists are trying to drag the Arab world (along with the rest of the world) back to the 5th century (and having some success), one has to wonder exactly what kind of “future” the DOE believes is in store for the world.

It is interesting, and telling, that many progressives are vehemently against making English a mandatory language for immigrants to the US but seem to have no problem mandating Arabic in schools. The classes were to also teach students about Arabic culture, but that culture is heavily inundated with religion; therefore, religious doctrine would have to be included. Where is the progressives’ outrage at this religious indoctrination being required in schools?

Appeasement of fanatic Islamic terrorists seems to be increasing rather than abating. Recent incidents such as the Ground Zero Mosque flap, the Ft. Hood murders, and the Arizona shootings have fortified progressives’ resolve to deny the danger from Islamic terrorists. While claiming to be “non-judgmental” about terrorists, they hypocritically judge everyone who does not agree with their agenda. It has become par for their course and it is getting tiring.
