A Message from Jeff McGeary, Thomas Jefferson Club president

Dear Patriot,

Today is President’s Day.  But tomorrow we celebrate the original meaning of this holiday, the birth of our Republic’s first President, George Washington.

George Washington was a freedom fighter, a leader, a visionary and a man of faith.  General Washington was arguably our greatest military leader; he held together a Continental Army in the face of great adversity, relying on his faith in God and the brave men that stood with him during the Revolution.

Yet today, Washington’s birthday is no longer Washington’s birthday, we celebrate “President’s Day,” so we can all pay homage to the likes of Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, among others.  Institutions across America once named in honor of our Republic’s first President have been changed, replaced with more “inclusive” names to reflect our changing cultural attitudes and values.

Let us reflect today upon the Father of our County; “first in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen.”  He stood for freedom and stepped aside after eight years as President, allowing our young Republic to grow into the greatest nation in history.  Happy Birthday President Washington!

A number of you wrote in about our next meeting and I want to give you an update…  We have been working with RePatriot Radio to produce an Immigration Forum.  Our challenge has been securing a number of the higher profile speakers, to include Members of Congress.  We are confident the next meeting will soon be scheduled for mid to late March and I will keep you posted.

The upcoming meeting schedule is as follows:

March – Immigration Forum
May – Primary Candidates Forum
Summer – Western Culture Forum including several elected officials from Europe
September – 2nd Annual We Read the Constitution

We are an “all-volunteer” army here at the Thomas Jefferson Club.  If you would like to assist in the planning and execution of meetings and other events please reply to this email.  We do appreciate the support.

If you would like to stay tuned-in to frequent news updates and commentary from the club please subscribe to our daily blog at https://thomasjeffersonclubblog.wordpress.com/.

Finally, we proudly stand with the Governor and Citizens of the Great State of Wisconsin.  To support Governor Walker and his fight for the taxpayers of Wisconsin, please visit http://www.standwithwalker.com/
All the best,
Jeff McGeary
