The Audacity of a King

Obama expanded “Audacity of Hope”, the title of his 2006 book, to audacity of government after being elected and arrogantly began conducting himself as king of America. Kings allow their ego free reign, demand reverence from all, suppress all resistance, and make up rules as they go along. Kings demand to be center stage in everything, allowing no affair to be conducted without reverence to the king.

President Obama has ignored existing immigration laws while making up his own, ignored content and consequences of bills in his haste to ram them through Congress, decreed the economy to be doing fine, created a fictional history and deemed it his biography, raised money from the rich to finance his class warfare re-election strategy, re-interpreted history, and claimed executive privilege in order to thwart investigations. He even has a court jester, vice president Joe Biden, spewing inanities with impunity.

This king’s kowtowing minions, particularly members of the media, infuse his name wherever possible, surround his pictures with haloes, ignore negative facts, credit past leaders with everything wrong, demean any detractor, and never, ever admit the king wears no pants. Nothing is too small or insignificant to escape connection to the king.

These minions have a new fundraising ploy, the “Obama Event Registry,” asking anyone with an upcoming birthday, wedding, or anniversary to donate money to his campaign instead of a gift at those events. This is not a joke. If it was, the court jester would be prominent on the site. He is not – yet.

Is this the audacity of hope or of a king? You decide.
