Shutdown is a Losing Game

Every American citizen should be embarrassed – and mad as hell. Elected officials in Washington are playing political games instead of running the government and the star of these games is the president of the United States, Barrack Obama.

For those paying attention, it is blatantly obvious that Obama maneuvered and planned for this shutdown in order to place blame on Republicans and hamper their mid-term election chances. He is now doing all he can to make this pathetic shutdown as hurtful as possible to the American public, eagerly searching for sad shutdown stories to use for his victory dance. It is as petty as it is disgusting, and Obama is unabashedly relishing the mayhem.

For those not paying attention, and there are, sadly, far too many, this stupid shutdown seems due to Republicans having a hissy fit over Obamacare. The mainstream media, carrying Obama’s water, is gleefully laying all the blame on Republicans with nary a word about his adamant refusal to even talk to those wanting to compromise.

That compromise came from House Republicans who backed down from attempting to not fund Obamacare (a losing play from the start) and tried to just make the health care law equal by delaying the mandate for individuals in the same way Obama delayed it for big business. Obama and Senate Democrats wouldn’t even talk about it.

According to an administration official, we are winning, so the length of this shutdown doesn’t matter and Obama couldn’t care less how much it hurts the American people. Boehner, rightly so, angrily called out the administration over this comment, saying This isn’t some damn game. However, most in Congress, including Boehner, are participants in this “game” and the entire country is losing badly.

It would be satisfying, and deserving, to fire Congress, along with Obama, and start from scratch with real public servants. Reality says we can only do this piecemeal through individual elections, but with a majority of voters brainwashed by the media and/or ignorant of the issues, it will be difficult to change. We had better start soon because we, the people, are losing badly and if you can’t see that, you are part of the problem.

One Response to “Shutdown is a Losing Game”

  1. Bruce Says:

Obama and the senate haave no respect for the house who constantly surrender. My representative wriites that he submits bills
to oppose senate actions; nothing happens and I suppose he feels his joob is done.

It is refreshing to see the house fight against socialist healthcare in America. I was born free and intend to die free. My friends and I would rather “fight than swiitch” than become comrades in a socialist collective.
