Leave the UN to Its Own Ruin

Over the last 37 years, the UN vote coincided with the United States on an average of 32.7%. In other words, the UN voted against our interests two-thirds of the time. Even nations receiving the most aid from the United States voted against us more than half the time, yet, we continue to pay the most dues. Why?

Obama came into office high on the UN and many nations seemed to think he was going to be a uniting factor. However, UN support for the US from other nations dropped 9% from 2011 to 2012, a clear indication that Obama’s foreign policies failed to unite or bring world confidence. His lack of leadership has been a disappointment not only to American citizens, but to the world, and our influence at the UN is at its weakest point.

Lack of leadership from the UN has also been evident for quite some time and the UN Security Council, the strongest body of the UN, has become largely impotent. Saudi Arabia recently rejected its newly acquired seat on the council, protesting UN inability to resolve world conflicts, specifically the Syrian civil war.

A long-time ally of the US, Saudi Arabia has now become angered by Obama’s diplomatic overtures to Iran and failure to act in Syria. Obama’s refusal to take a harder line on Iran’s quest for nuclear weapons dovetails with the UN’s inability to act, leaving the Middle East on the verge of a dangerous explosion. What use, then, is the UN if it cannot help defuse these situations?

The UN is quick to condemn the US when it can and reluctant to back the US when asked. Its actions, when it does decide to act, are most often weak and ineffective. It is politically correct while being a political farce. The time has come for the US to bow out.

    David,
The UN should move to Africa or South
    America.

The is best customer of NYC prostitutes and thereby helps our economy. The Islamist countries who follow the Koran also use the prostitutes.

This Saudi thing is Un as usual, but a more disturbing UN pushed
Program is Common Core Education. The history courses do not hit Pa until next year. If one wants to worry about our country learn more about common core.
