Say It Ain’t Joe

August 30, 2015

As Hillary is agonizingly fading away, Democrats are scrambling for an acceptable replacement candidate. In order to continue making history, their inexperienced community organizer was to be succeeded by the first woman president or, better yet, a “twofer” with the first Native American (?) woman president, Elizabeth Warren. That dream seems dead so they are turning to a court jester.

When asked about Joe Biden, most people’s first reaction is laughter – and they are not laughing with him, they are laughing at him. That’s because Biden has trouble speaking for more than 30 seconds without making a gaffe of some sort. It is his trademark and being the court jester of the Obama administration is his best-known accomplishment.

He needs to overcome that image if he is to be a serious presidential candidate but if he does, he would no longer be the Biden everyone knows. That would leave the Democrats with an unknown, aging candidate whose election would not “make history”, thus, alienating many of the party’s voters.

On the other hand, a debate with Donald Trump could mask Joe’s gaffes or, at the very least, make them seem less inappropriate. Donald has his own unique way of squeezing laughter out of seriousness that could make Joe feel right at home and perhaps propel his gaffes to a higher creative level. Who knows? They may even pick each other as running mates. Wouldn’t that be something for the history books?

It would be best for all if Biden just went away. Were he to run and win we would basically be subjected to an Obama third term. That would be embarrassing and devastating for the country. We’ve had enough of that.

Paris Rally Only a Gesture

January 13, 2015

The largest demonstration in France’s history was little more than a feel-good gesture. It was nice that it brought many world leaders together for a moment of solidarity against barbaric terrorism, but it would be nicer if they actually did something to stop terrorism. As long as political correctness continues to reign there will be no advance made against terrorism.

Political correctness continues to be more important than reality for far too many. From president Obama to Howard Dean to the NY Times, the mere mention of Islam or Muslims in relation to a terrorist attack brings more outrage than the bloody attacks themselves. There is more concern and debate about what not to call terrorists than how to combat them, and fear of offending Muslims is greater than fear of terrorism.

Many otherwise intelligent people have bought into this PC foolishness. It makes them feel good and righteous about themselves, but it is literally killing us. European countries are mired in political correctness and now they are becoming mired in terrorism. One follows the other and until the world sees this, the terrorists will continue to win – and they are most certainly winning. Our entire way of life has been disrupted and our freedom has become restrained because of terrorist victories.

The Paris rally did little against terrorism but it did highlight our administration’s continuing political bungling when only an ambassador was sent to represent the US. Obama’s fear of offending Muslims overcame his fear of offending the rest of the world. Yes, he has done more actually fighting terrorism than those marching, but it was still a political blunder.

Obama’s appearance with busloads of Secret Service agents was certainly not missed and Biden’s absence was more of a relief than anything else. However, Holder was right there in Paris and deliberately held back from attending by Obama. That was certainly a message being sent. Had this been a rally against police, Holder would surely have been ordered to lead the march. Sad, but true.

Pelosi’s Doomed Civilization

September 15, 2014

Vice President Biden’s gaffes are well known and many, often including Biden himself, just laugh and take what he says with a grain of salt. Nancy Pelosi, however, always wants to be taken seriously even when she out-gaffes Biden. The American Thinker takes her to task for her latest Pelosi-ism.

From the American Thinker:

Dressed like an elderly, upscale biker chick in a leather jacket that she accessorized with $10,000 Tahitian pearls, Nancy Pelosi recently…made an incoherent appearance on “Real Time with Bill Maher.” After sharing the apocalyptic prophesy with atheist Maher that if Republicans retake the Senate “civilization is doomed,” the woman whose political party is currently in the process of dooming civilization uttered the following load of rubbish: “Fear is a motivator, and we…” – as in Democrats – “are not fear mongers.”

It’s funny to hear Nancy Pelosi project onto Republicans the very thing she is, which is a fear peddler…This is the woman who…sounded an alarm to warn Americans that “Every week we don’t pass a Stimulus package, 500 million Americans lose their jobs…said that if the Republican’s “Protect Life Act” prevented Obamacare abortion funding, pregnant ‘women [would] die on the floor?’…warned America that if the House passed a bill that extended a federal pay freeze, it would “undermine the dignity” of a job…warned Americans that they should “be afraid” of the Supreme Court…

How Foot-in-Mouth Pelosi can say that Democrats are not “fear mongers” in the same breath as saying that “Civilization as we know it today would be in jeopardy if the Republicans win the Senate” does illustrate a level of cluelessness on Nancy’s part that is quite impressive.

Like Mother, Like Daughter

June 24, 2014

Hillary has taken a lot of flak for her claim of leaving the White House broke. Her attempt to ingratiate herself with the common man fell flat and backfired, planting her firmly and forever among the elite. Being out of touch with reality is a common trait of the elite and it seems that Hillary has passed that onto her daughter, Chelsea.

In a recent interview, Chelsea tried to compare herself to an average 34-year-old millennial bouncing from job to job trying to find a true calling. Leaving a $600K job at NBC (A typical job for a millennial with no experience, right?), she settled on working for her parents’ philanthropic foundation, saying she felt she had a calling for this work.

Not only does Chelsea seem blind to the enormous advantage she has because of her parents, she seems to have a need to pass herself off as “one of the guys”, just like her mother. She seems to have no clue, saying: “I was curious if I could care about (money) on some fundamental level, and I couldn’t”. Most would be embarrassed to admit this in public, understanding how such an elite, privileged viewpoint sounds. Chelsea, like her mother, doesn’t see it.

Those born with a safety net under them often do not appreciate what that means. Fear of failure is not a factor in their lives and money is not a constant source of anxiety, therefore, they lack an appreciation of the difficulties most face.

Chelsea, like her mother, is part of the elite. This is the same elite railed against by Chris Matthews when Mitt Romney, another elite member, campaigned for president. Now, hypocrite Matthews pleads for us to back off his beloved Hillary, asking: “Why don’t we accept them as they are, and stop making them like us?”

Perhaps acceptance first needs to come from the elite. Like mother, like daughter, Chelsea needs to appreciate how fortunate she is and learn to handle it with more dignity and grace. Chelsea is still young enough to learn but it is clear it won’t come from her mother.

Another Biden Blunder

February 26, 2014

Let Joe Biden speak for more than 90 seconds and he will utter a foolish blunder. He is so well known for gaffes that when asked about him, the majority of people’s first response is laughter. That may be OK for a national clown, but it is embarrassing for a vice president.

Biden was true to form when recently asked about California governor Jerry Brown’s efforts at getting a high speed rail project up and running. Admitting that he was a “train guy”, Biden glowingly spoke of the high speed rail “making sense” by “going from California into Las Vegas” at a speed of “230-240 miles an hour”.

The problem is that this projected high speed rail does not go to Las Vegas (it is expected to run between San Francisco and San Diego) and the top speed, which most probably will never be reached, is only 220 miles an hour. Joe’s assertion, therefore, that it “makes sense” ends up highly doubtful, too.

Biden has lauded this project for quite some time so his confusion should not be treated lightly, especially since he is considered by some to be a viable presidential candidate for 2016. That idea should be as laughable as many of his gaffes, but it would be much too serious a mistake to laugh about.

Biden says whatever he wishes whenever he wishes, all delivered with a smug, cocky smile. He is little more than a cheerleader for Obama which is why many of the so-called journalists covering the White House love him. He is like them: a blind, unshakeable believer. He should join them to cover the next administration in the White House, but he certainly should not become part of that administration.
