A Bumpy Cruz to NY

January 15, 2016

Forget ISIS, unemployment, Obamacare, disastrous foreign policies, runaway illegal immigration, executive orders, Hillary scandals, Iran’s nuclear program, and even Donald Trump. The New York Daily News is in an uproar over Ted Cruz dissing New York during the Republican debate, declaring on its front page: “Drop Dead, Ted”. There goes Obama’s plea for political civility.

Cruz disparagingly accused Trump of having “New York values” which he defined: “…in New York City are socially liberal, are pro-abortion, are pro-gay-marriage, focused around money and the media”. These are the values behind NY Mayor DeBlasio’s attempt to ban large sodas and president Obama’s attempts to “transform America” according to his personal views – and they are the values known to be held by a majority in NY City.

Conservatives not from NY get it and understand what Cruz was saying. Those from NY City, both liberal and conservative, take it as a personal insult because many New Yorkers have the parochial view that the world revolves around NY City and everything outside the city limits is unsophisticated and crude. Consequently, saying anything negative about NY City or its residents may be the only thing that can bring New Yorkers from both sides of the aisle together in agreement – at least for a day or two.

Talking heads on FOX News, MSNBC, and all those in between are taking umbrage at Ted’s “insult”. Iran’s insult of capturing, handcuffing, then releasing 10 American sailors did not produce as much across-the-board outrage. In fact, Kerry and Obama praised Iran’s “diplomacy” over that incident in their continuing and embarrassing appeasement of Iran. One can image, then, their chagrin over Ted’s comments.

This is how far we have “progressed” under the political tutelage of the left-leaning media and the Obama administration. We may have “progressed” too far to turn back but the coming presidential election is the best shot to try to do so. Please vote – and vote wisely.

Far Left = Far Out

October 27, 2015

It gets nuttier and nuttier. The far Left sifts everything through a PC/racist filter that transforms reality into a fantasy world that would be laughable if it wasn’t taken so seriously. Unfortunately, it is taken seriously and that sucks the humor out, making it simply pathetic.

MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry scolded a guest on her show for using the word “hard-worker”, explaining: “I want us to be super careful when we use the language ‘hard worker,’ because I actually keep an image of folks working in cotton fields on my office wall, because it is a reminder about what hard work looks like”. Thank you, Melissa, for reminding us about slavery because we often forget to be obsessed with it in our daily routines and language.

She did, however, further define a hard-worker “in the context of relative privilege” (because that is the only context we should be concerned about) as “moms who don’t have health care”. It is a wonder that her “privileged” guest, Latino activist Alfonso Aguilar, didn’t break down in tears and apologize for his callous misuse of the English language – or just break down laughing.

Attempting to re-define words and ways of speaking to advance the far-left agenda has become ridiculous, especially in colleges. The University of Tennessee, bowing to the LGBT community, recently published guidelines for replacing common pronouns such as ‘he’, ‘she’, ‘him’ and ‘her’ with the strange terms ‘xe’, ‘zir’ and ‘xyr’ in order to “make the university ‘welcoming and inclusive’ and stop people feeling marginalized”.

Staff members at the school were also advised to eliminate roll calls (which somehow marginalize students) and greet each student separately, asking them to “announce their name and pronoun of preference” to be used when addressing them. With several pronouns to choose from, it seems students would have to take notes to keep it all straight lest they offend someone during the semester.

Luckily for students, there was a backlash calling these proposals ridiculous and absurd, forcing the university to “clarify” that nobody would be forced to use them. A university spokesman (spokesperson?) said, “we do not dictate speech”, but that seems to be exactly what the university’s “inclusive practices” are attempting to do. We all know that “practice makes perfect”, so it’s just a matter of time before they become mandatory.

Stupid Border Line

July 11, 2014

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes displayed “superior intelligence”, nuance, and insight by insisting that too much security at the border is our problem. He tells us that the border has never been more secure and that increased security is responsible for the humanitarian crisis that is now occurring.

He ignorantly explains: “If the border was not well staffed and protected, agents probably wouldn’t be there to apprehend the unprecedented number of unaccompanied minor children who are showing up”. He further states that more security “could make the crisis even worse”.

These so-called “apprehended” children are searching out border agents in order to turn themselves in to get amnesty and US benefits. They are overwhelming border guards who are now fully engaged in child care rather than border security, thereby, creating an open border for anyone wanting to enter illegally. That open border may be Hayes’ dream come true, but it is extremely dangerous for the country.

In Hayes’ twisted logic, removing more border guards would stop these children from crossing. That is insane, but it is the world according to MSNBC and many other deranged liberals. Anything negative said about Obama is turned around and treated as a positive no matter how stupid or outrageous it is. This is knee-jerk liberalism at its best or, more accurately, its worst.

Labeling this only as a humanitarian crisis is just another rhetorical ploy. Yes, it is a humanitarian crisis, but it is also a government, immigration, border, security, social, and leadership crisis. It is the epitome of administration failure on display for all to see – and it is insulting to have Chris Hayes insist we drink his liberal Kool-Aid. You are an ass, Mr. Hayes, and you should be ashamed of yourself.

Right now, there is more security being used to keep reporters away from this “humanitarian” crisis than there is to keep illegal immigrants from crossing the border. How insane is that?

Like Mother, Like Daughter

June 24, 2014

Hillary has taken a lot of flak for her claim of leaving the White House broke. Her attempt to ingratiate herself with the common man fell flat and backfired, planting her firmly and forever among the elite. Being out of touch with reality is a common trait of the elite and it seems that Hillary has passed that onto her daughter, Chelsea.

In a recent interview, Chelsea tried to compare herself to an average 34-year-old millennial bouncing from job to job trying to find a true calling. Leaving a $600K job at NBC (A typical job for a millennial with no experience, right?), she settled on working for her parents’ philanthropic foundation, saying she felt she had a calling for this work.

Not only does Chelsea seem blind to the enormous advantage she has because of her parents, she seems to have a need to pass herself off as “one of the guys”, just like her mother. She seems to have no clue, saying: “I was curious if I could care about (money) on some fundamental level, and I couldn’t”. Most would be embarrassed to admit this in public, understanding how such an elite, privileged viewpoint sounds. Chelsea, like her mother, doesn’t see it.

Those born with a safety net under them often do not appreciate what that means. Fear of failure is not a factor in their lives and money is not a constant source of anxiety, therefore, they lack an appreciation of the difficulties most face.

Chelsea, like her mother, is part of the elite. This is the same elite railed against by Chris Matthews when Mitt Romney, another elite member, campaigned for president. Now, hypocrite Matthews pleads for us to back off his beloved Hillary, asking: “Why don’t we accept them as they are, and stop making them like us?”

Perhaps acceptance first needs to come from the elite. Like mother, like daughter, Chelsea needs to appreciate how fortunate she is and learn to handle it with more dignity and grace. Chelsea is still young enough to learn but it is clear it won’t come from her mother.

Liberal Retorts

March 10, 2014

Commentator Mike Barnicle, appearing on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe”, proudly commented: “…what does it say about a group, CPAC, where the most popular speaker they had, the one who received the most rousing reception is a moron, Sarah Palin?”

Derisive name-calling is the standard retort of the left. Criticism and differences are viciously attacked rather than rationally debated because much of their agenda is based on “belief” rather than reality. Calling Sarah Palin a moron has become a standard of the left and many who are clueless about Palin repeat this proudly as if it is an original thought, but it is pure ignorance.

Often, we find hypocrisy accompanying ignorance such as this because these elite and superior intelligent “believers” never look at themselves and never question what they are fed. Thus, Barnicle scoffs and sneers at Palin’s reception from CPAC, conveniently forgetting that Sandra Fluke, an unaccomplished college student, spoke at the Democratic National Convention in 2012 and was their star speaker, treated as a hero – just for whining about having to pay for her own birth control.

Chris Matthews, a perfect example of blind belief, called the CPAC a “whole tapestry of weirdness”, a “crazy right-wing economic agenda” attended by a “crazy car”. How’s that for unbiased, informative reporting? Of course, Matthews has long ago lost credibility, becoming a caricature of himself while turning “Hardball” into “Screwball” on a nightly basis.

Routinely, we hear liberals echo the talking point that Fox News lies or, more specifically, that Bill O’Reilly lies. Yet, there are never examples given and most will proudly reveal that they never, ever watch O’Reilly. This discrepancy is a “nuance” overlooked by liberals who get serious talking points from comedians Bill Maher and Jon Stewart.

If you mention these things, you’ll just be called stupid, ending any chance at rational debate. Ignorance may be bliss, but it is also stale and very tiring.

Democrats Running on Excuses

February 19, 2014

In spite of MSNBC’s biased campaign to make “Bridgegate” a momentous issue, polls continue to show that unemployment remains the most important issue for voters. Unless there is a miraculous economic recovery in the next six months, Democrats will have nothing but excuses to campaign on for November’s elections.

Obamacare has been a disaster and many Democrats are trying to distance themselves from it, however, its negative impact on jobs can’t be avoided. After a CBO report estimated a 2 million job loss by 2017 due to Obamacare, panic forced Democrat’s to say that losing jobs “empowers” people to make choices about their lives.

Harry Reid put out the foolish talking point that “…It allows people to get out of a job they’re locked into”. It is an insult to those losing a job to be told they should now feel “empowered” because they are no longer “locked” into gainful employment. Perhaps, they should use this “empowerment” in the voting booth come November.

The CBO report validated the “racist, Obama-hating” predictions that the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) will create a disincentive to work and force many to work fewer hours due to part-time jobs replacing full-time jobs. This, too, brought out a panicky excuse that it will provide more choices, particularly the choice to “not work”. This is so lame it is embarrassing just to hear it.

Speaking of embarrassing, Secretary of State John Kerry is desperately trying to turn voters’ attention away from the poor economy by stirring up fear over man-made “climate change”, once called “global warming” until that began unravelling. He called it our greatest terror threat but he’s going to need excuses for all the failed, dire predictions and contrary data before anyone buys his Al Gore impersonation.

From Chris Matthews blaming the sun for a poor Obama speech to Sebelius blaming arcane insurance terminology for Spanish translation mistakes, excuses are becoming the Democrat platform in the face of administration failure. There will certainly be more as November approaches, but there will be no excuse for the silent majority if they sit home and allow this farce to continue. That would simply be a disaster.

Dizzy From Media Spin

January 14, 2014

“Bridgegate”, as the Christie traffic fiasco is being called, received 17 times more coverage from ABC, NBC, and CBS News in a 24-hour span than the IRS scandal received in 6 months. MSNBC is even going to run a one-hour special to discuss several “theories” about it.

MSNBC’s prescient Mika already provided her theory, stating: “we know Chris Christie and we know he would have known”. She also “knows” what is and isn’t a scandal, saying: “…to bring up Benghazi and the IRS is like flailing for some sort of distraction”. Four dead Americans have become just a distraction.

Bridgegate is a “twofer” for the liberal media. It’s an opportunity to smear a potential presidential candidate threatening Hillary’s chances and it is a substitute for Obama administration scandals that are getting harder and harder to ignore. It even has the additional benefit of keeping continuing negative Obamacare revelations from public awareness.

One of those revelations is that in 2014, 80% of individual costs to health insurance companies between $45,000 and $250,000 will be paid by the government. When insurance is purchased through the government exchanges, private insurance companies are only liable for costs below $45,000. Taxpayers pay the rest. This is not worthy to be a news story.

The continuing takeover by Al Qaida of abandoned Iraq isn’t news, either, except for NBC to tell us that the Iraq War wasn’t worth it. Obama made sure it wasn’t worth it when he failed (deliberately?) to maintain a military presence in Iraq after hastily pulling our troops out. His eagerness to get totally out of Iraq gave new life to defeated Al Qaida forces and they are now back. The media will protect Obama from any blame.

If you don’t like Obama and didn’t vote for him, you are a racist. If you don’t like Hillary and will not vote for her, you are a misogynist. For the media, it’s that simple – and it will be news. The so-called GOP war against women is THE talking point and you will hear it for the next three years as the media prepares to “make history”, again.

You are sure to become dizzy from the spin.

Shocked Voters Deserve This Mess

October 31, 2013

Obamacare is falling apart badly enough to even have Chris Matthews, Obama’s biggest sycophant, question the president’s credibility on it. Hill Democrats are frustrated and publically acknowledging obvious problems for the first time. Self-righteous celebrities are now avoiding interviews about the health care law they were once blindly promoting for Obama.

It is now becoming clear that Obama knew long before now that his continued promise (lie?) of being able to keep existing health plans was not accurate. There should also be little doubt that he knew plan costs were not going to reduce across the board because that never made sense.

This fiasco should not be a surprise to anyone. It was accurately predicted by evil, heartless, racist, women-hating, war mongering Republicans who were, we were told, only against the health care law because they hate Obama and poor people. Warnings were given daily, heard only by those watching FOX News because the mainstream media didn’t want you to know.

Ignorant voters deserve this mess. Voting to make history rather than to make sense was stupid, and there is always a price to pay for stupidity. Apathy, too, comes at a price, so non-voters are just as deserving. We now have a healthcare system in turmoil, costing more, providing less, and promising even more problems and costs in the future.

Ignorance is often accompanied by arrogance, and the emotional investment many have in Obama produces both. A perfect example is MSNBC’s Ed Shultz who immediately went into denial proclaiming “there are no glitches” with the Obamacare rollout and blamed FOX News and Republicans for manufacturing glitches.

Others, such as Bill Maher and Howard Dean, have joined Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in a surreal attempt to lay blame on Republicans who, en masse, voted against Obamacare. Denial is ramping up and reality is being distorted to fit the “dream”. With the farce of “comprehensive” immigration reform (aka amnesty) up next for ramming down our throats, reality is the administration’s worst enemy and must be avoided.

Unfortunately, wise and informed voters (a voter minority) will suffer, too, but with no shock. Their shock came when an inexperienced, far left freshman Senator with a background only in community organizing was voted in as president – twice.
