A Bumpy Cruz to NY

January 15, 2016

Forget ISIS, unemployment, Obamacare, disastrous foreign policies, runaway illegal immigration, executive orders, Hillary scandals, Iran’s nuclear program, and even Donald Trump. The New York Daily News is in an uproar over Ted Cruz dissing New York during the Republican debate, declaring on its front page: “Drop Dead, Ted”. There goes Obama’s plea for political civility.

Cruz disparagingly accused Trump of having “New York values” which he defined: “…in New York City are socially liberal, are pro-abortion, are pro-gay-marriage, focused around money and the media”. These are the values behind NY Mayor DeBlasio’s attempt to ban large sodas and president Obama’s attempts to “transform America” according to his personal views – and they are the values known to be held by a majority in NY City.

Conservatives not from NY get it and understand what Cruz was saying. Those from NY City, both liberal and conservative, take it as a personal insult because many New Yorkers have the parochial view that the world revolves around NY City and everything outside the city limits is unsophisticated and crude. Consequently, saying anything negative about NY City or its residents may be the only thing that can bring New Yorkers from both sides of the aisle together in agreement – at least for a day or two.

Talking heads on FOX News, MSNBC, and all those in between are taking umbrage at Ted’s “insult”. Iran’s insult of capturing, handcuffing, then releasing 10 American sailors did not produce as much across-the-board outrage. In fact, Kerry and Obama praised Iran’s “diplomacy” over that incident in their continuing and embarrassing appeasement of Iran. One can image, then, their chagrin over Ted’s comments.

This is how far we have “progressed” under the political tutelage of the left-leaning media and the Obama administration. We may have “progressed” too far to turn back but the coming presidential election is the best shot to try to do so. Please vote – and vote wisely.

Stupid Racial Agenda

December 30, 2014

By making race monger Al Sharpton his go-to guy, president Obama has encouraged racial hostilities in the country. His recent claim that race relations are better now than when he took office is just more self-serving rhetoric having no basis in reality. The stupidity of Obama, de Blasio, and other so-called “leaders” aligning with Sharpton has produced a top-down, anti-police atmosphere resulting in two policemen being executed in NY City.

The police in NY City feel abandoned by Mayor de Blasio and now face an increasingly hostile black community. The danger facing policeman in NY City has always been high but de Blasio’s foolish actions have made it worse and the police are responding in ways that will put us all in danger.

Concerned for their personal safety and feeling under attack from the community and the government, police in the city are turning a blind eye to minor crimes. Delayed response times and lack of summonses have resulted from de Blasio’s foolishness and morale is at an all-time low in the police force. One can expect crime to increase in NY City as it becomes obvious to all that police response has eroded.

The execution style killing of the two police officers in NY City has been mimicked in a thwarted attempt in North Carolina and can be expected to occur in other cities across the country. Every police shooting is now being protested as police brutality regardless of the circumstances and it is only a matter of time before other police departments begin to delay response times or not respond at all.

Our only line of defense against runaway crime and chaos in the streets has been compromised by a stupid racial agenda encouraged by Obama. Leadership from the White House on many issues has become non-existent but this goes beyond lack of leadership. This agenda seems to sanction rioting, violence, and racial unrest – and it is dangerous.

Top-down Flow of Arrogance

January 22, 2014

NY Governor Cuomo displayed ignorant arrogance with his recent comment: “Extreme conservatives have no place in New York”. Had he only said “extremists”, it might not have been so bad, but his idea of an extremist applies only to conservatives and he made that perfectly clear.

Protecting un-born children, respecting the 2nd Amendment, and believing in traditional marriage are unacceptable and extremist views to Cuomo. His lame explanation that he was only referring to political candidates doesn’t make it any more palatable because elected politicians are supposed to represent all constituents – and many hold those views.

This is a top-down flow of the political arrogance president Obama exudes and it will now permeate Cuomo’s king-like reign. Obama’s refusal to compromise, his demonization of the opposition, and his disrespect for the law flooded his entire administration and it is reaching city and state levels. Cuomo proudly displayed it, convincing more than just the rich that it’s time to leave NY.

Former NY City Mayor Bloomberg displayed this self-righteous attitude as does newly-elected mayor de Blasio who now views his election as a “mandate” to repudiate Bloomberg’s policies. For many, Obama legitimized treating an election as a “mandate” to do whatever one wants and it is becoming standard. This is especially true for many liberal politicians who have pompously convinced themselves that their views are the most popular views of “the American People”.

It seems our entire government is infected with a top-down attitude that works against the common good. Changing leadership is the only remedy, and that can begin in November. Please vote wisely.
