Obama is Endangering the Country

February 9, 2016

Individuals with connections to terrorist organizations have been apprehended crossing our southern border, illegal immigrants are being used by drug cartels as conduits for heroin, children are dying at the hands of human traffickers, and dangerous criminals are crossing into the United States. Obama’s response is to double down on his open border policy.

The Obama administration has just re-instated a ‘catch-and-release” policy ordering border agents to stop arresting and deporting many new illegal immigrants. Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council, said instead of cracking down, the administration issued this order to avoid further embarrassment over the number of illegals not showing up for deportation hearings. Testifying before a House Judiciary Committee, Judd said that “Immigration laws today appear to be mere suggestions” and “that fact is well known in other countries.”

Drug cartels are flooding the border with illegal immigrants carrying heroin into the country, increasing supply and lowering cost. Deaths from heroin-related overdoses nearly quadrupled between 2002 and 2013 and Obama’s border policy is dangerously escalating the heroin epidemic sweeping throughout the country.

It is not just Obama’s immigration policies that are dangerous. He has succeeded in shifting the focus of our Armed Forces onto climate change, a nebulous threat he believes is more dire and imminent than ISIS and other terrorists. His desperate agreement (appeasement?) with Iran has resulted in the return of billions of dollars of frozen assets to Iran that will finance a continued quest for nuclear weapons. He has insulted allies and lowered respect for the US around the world.

On the home front during his administration, racial tensions increased; economic growth stalled; government spending and debt escalated; health care insurance became a quagmire; and the country became further divided. He seems oblivious to it all as he continues to “transform America” according to his personal vision, a vision born from radical propaganda he was subjected to in his youth.

The danger is real, the damage is real, and the denial is real. The “dream” is not. Vote wisely.

Wrong Lessons From the Vietnam War

May 21, 2015

Our abandonment of Vietnam in 1975 was a national disgrace. Scenes of helicopters on rooftops desperately trying to evacuate people at the last minute continue to haunt responsible Americans, especially those who served in Vietnam. There are many lessons to be learned from the entire fiasco of that war, but it seems the only lessons learned have been the wrong ones.

One of those wrong lessons has been to simply declare a war over when it is no longer popular and pack up and leave. In Vietnam, a pretense of a peace agreement was used to rationalize our abandonment along with a promise of aid if North Vietnam broke that agreement. Our abandonment became official when Congress refused to finance the aid promised.

In Iraq, Obama took that lesson further by declaring beforehand when the war would be over and pulling all our troops out at that designated time. The pretense of a peace agreement was replaced by the pretense of an Iraqi army capable of defending the country but the abandonment remained the same.

The task of evacuating those who helped us during the war was also abandoned in Iraq. Our attempt to evacuate those who helped us in Vietnam was honorable but there was little preparation and little time to accomplish it properly. Our hasty retreat caused chaos and thousands of those we left behind were tortured and killed because of our inability to get them out.

The lesson learned from that was to avoid the entire mess by not even trying. In Iraq, no preparations or efforts were made for evacuation. Collaborators were knowingly left behind to fend for themselves when our troops left, therefore, thousands died when we abandoned our honor along with our commitment – just to fulfill a campaign promise.

Allowing a president and his civilian, political advisers to form and dictate military strategy failed in Vietnam where rules of engagement based on political fallout and civilian casualties put our troops in danger and forced a stalemate. Rules of engagement have become even more politically based since then and politicians continue to subvert military experts’ strategies for political purposes. When will we ever learn?

Fool Me Once…

December 10, 2014

President Obama is seeking more discretionary power to wage war as he sees fit. After campaigning to end the war in Iraq, prematurely pulling all our troops out against military advice, and promising not to put “boots on the ground”, he now wants to increase his personal use of military power.

This president has a history of lying (e.g.“if you like your doctor…); a history of acting alone (e.g. executive order for illegals, cancelling Obamacare rules); a history of ignoring the law (e.g. directing ICE not to deport illegals); a history of ignoring the Pentagon (pulling all troops out of Iraq); and a history of reneging on promises (e.g. Immigration reform in first term, transparency, shovel-ready projects, closing GITMO, etc.). It would behoove Congress to remember the age-old idiom: “Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.”

Obama has fooled the American public and Congress over and over and he has arrogantly assumed more power than any president was ever meant to have. He has displayed a leftist distaste for the military by shunning military advice, apologizing to the world for past military involvement, and taking military decisions away from the Pentagon. He has assumed personal control over drone use and drone targeting and is now adding “boots on the ground” to the 3500 already there as if never having vowed not to.

Obama has been an egotistical, runaway train doing whatever he wants whenever he wants while refusing to take responsibility for anything. We will spend years trying to recover from the policies and precedents he set in place. It would be shameful beyond belief to grant him more power, especially military power.

Almost everything from Obama and his administration has been s**t masquerading as chocolate.  What could possibly go wrong by giving him more power?

Panetta Shatters the Façade

October 11, 2014

Former CIA Chief and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has shattered the liberal façade of competency concerning Obama’s foreign policies with his newly released book “Worthy Fights”. Trying mightily to remain a loyal Democrat and loyal to the president, Panetta has not been able to hide deep concern over Obama’s foreign policy failures and lack of leadership.

In multiple interviews since his book’s release, Panetta revealed more than may be evident in the book about Obama’s indecisiveness, lack of leadership, and political obsessiveness. He also validated critics’ allegations that Obama continually dismisses recommendations from military advisers and the intelligence community, making decisions based on political and ideological factors.

Panetta tries hard not to put all the blame on Obama for pulling our troops out of Iraq, but he does admit that Obama’s efforts to convince Iraq’s government to allow troops to remain were weak at best and it was a mistake. This is one of Obama’s decisions based on political ramifications and personal ideology that many supporters try to deny was wrong.

Panetta points to Obama’s indecision and lack of action concerning the “red line” in Syria as being a policy failure that combined with our troop pull-out from Iraq to produce a rampaging ISIS. Panetta also admits telling Obama up front that Benghazi was a terrorist attack and believes that further investigation is needed. This suggests an administration cover up.

Leon Panetta (Democrat) is highly experienced and has held many top-level positions throughout his career. His concerns should be taken seriously by all and serve as a wake-up call to blind followers. So far, the mainstream media has decided to focus only on his alleged “disloyalty” to Obama, pointing to the book’s release while Obama is still in office as some sort of breach of protocol.

The mainstream media’s investment in Obama has superseded concern for the country’s well-being, allowing Obama’s failing foreign policies to continue unchallenged. Panetta’s book seems to be a desperate plea for all to make a realistic evaluation of Obama and his dangerous policies. His concerns should not be taken lightly.

November’s elections are the first step to reversing our failing direction. Vote wisely.

Obama’s Personal Military

November 2, 2013

The Obamacare failure is becoming obvious even to some hardcore, progressive liberals but it isn’t nearly as dangerous to the country as the purging of the military that Obama has been conducting. His “transforming” of the military to fit his personal vision is in full swing.

The far left has always despised the military but its despicable treatment of soldiers during the Vietnam era forced a pretense of respect. Liberal leaders with distaste for the military never hesitate to use military force when it suits their agenda, but the military’s very existence is always an embarrassment to them. President Obama is no exception, but his arrogance is exceptional and he is taking action.

There are reports that 197 military officers have been “purged”, in the past five years. Nine senior commanding generals have been purged this year, alone, by Obama, three being linked to the Benghazi fiasco. Two-star general Michael Carey who was overseeing the U.S. arsenal of intercontinental missiles is the latest one to be removed for “misbehavior” that has not been defined. Daring to disagree with Obama is the common link and anyone who takes exception to the “transformation” of the military that is taking place is a target.

This transformation has nothing to do with military readiness or capability. It is a forcing of Obama’s social agenda onto the military and an intentional weakening of the military in order to reduce this country’s standing as a superpower, just as his foreign policies have done. Gay issues, women issues, religious issues, and other social issues mirroring Obama’s personal agenda have become the focus of the military, and personnel all through the ranks are disillusioned and disgusted – and leaving.

Some believe Obama’s goal is to have a personal military doing his bidding against opposing citizens in this country, such as the Tea Party. It has even been rumored that “the Obama administration’s ‘litmus test’ for new military leaders is whether or not they will obey an order to fire on U.S. citizens”. Speculation abounds but it is the outcome that matters and that is proving to be a demoralized, underfunded, ineffective military.

The failure of Obamacare pales in comparison to this. We need to stop the bleeding and the only way to do that is by voting.

Reagan Was Right – Again

March 25, 2013

As a result of North Korea rattling its nuclear sword with long range missile tests and development of a mobile launcher, Obama reluctantly reversed his decision to freeze the Alaskan missile defense system and allowed ground-based missile interceptors to be deployed. By doing so, Obama inadvertently pays homage to Ronald Reagan’s SDI initiative.

Thirty years ago, Reagan was demonized and ridiculed for his “evil empire” speech against the Soviet Union and his idea of a missile defense initiative (SDI). It was sneeringly labeled “Star Wars” by Sen. Ted Kennedy who had no such ridicule when President John F. Kennedy pushed the limits of technology by calling for a man on the moon in less than a decade. Technology is only embraced by liberals when it fits their political ideology.

Both George H. and George W. Bush kept SDI alive while in the White House. Bill Clinton, supposedly a far-thinking president, pointedly ignored it as best he could. Obama is only allowing interceptors because North Korean missiles may now have the capability of hitting the west coast of the US. His foreign policy with North Korea and Iran failed to stop or limit their nuclear aggression and threats can no longer be ignored.

Obama’s distaste for SDI was evident when he cancelled the anti-missile system that was scheduled for deployment in Poland and the Czech Republic as a defense against potential Iranian missiles. Obama caved to the Russian complaint (fear?) against a system that could neutralize Russian intercontinental missiles, as if defending against them was an act of aggression. Consequently, Iran’s continued development of a nuclear missile poses a threat that could have been, but won’t be, defended against.

Obama cancelled several other missile defense programs, causing us to fall behind in that technology at a time when the threat of a rogue nuclear missile is increasing. Once again, Obama’s “fundamental transformation” is proving to be out of touch with reality and dangerous to the welfare of the country. If he finishes stripping us down to the defense level of other European countries, where will we and the free world turn for protection? Reagan instinctively understood.

Women in War – Or War on Women?

January 24, 2013

Pentagon Chief Leon Panetta is removing the military’s ban on women in combat units. This move resembles a “war on women” (almost literally) more than anything the left has erroneously accused the GOP of doing. This is not surprising since the left always accuses others of sins they commit themselves.

This move will surely be considered a “win” by feminists claiming to want equality, but exactly who wins here? If the goal was to have equal gender representation in the body bags coming home from a war zone, it is highly doubtful that women burning their bras in the 60’s were aware of it. It is further doubtful that most young women today are eager to learn the art of combat or feel much empowered by having the equal opportunity to fight and die for their country in faraway lands.

As another domino falls in Obama’s “transformation” of America, we continue on the path to emulating other countries around the world rather than leading. The necessity for some countries to have women in combat units does not exist for us, but Obama’s personal ideology demands all be the same, just as feminists demand the sexes be the same.

Perhaps Obama will further emulate other countries by re-instituting the draft. Will he and feminists then rejoice in seeing young women plucked out of society and forced into military service? Will it be as liberating as the guilt feminists have caused in many women for wanting to be stay-at-home moms?

Feminists are increasing pressure on young women by demanding behaviors acceptable only to them. Obama is increasing pressure on society with policies chasing unrealistic personal goals. The excess of liberalism is “transforming” America into a nightmare rather than a dream. Is this really the direction America wishes to go?
