Deaf, Dumb, and Blind

November 7, 2014

Deaf, dumb, and blind ideologues have not been swayed in the least by election results and are out spinning like spiders on steroids. President Obama, who told us his policies were on the ballot, totally ignored that in his voter-defying speech, thus, beginning the current spin cycle.

Nancy Pelosi, the epitome of deaf, dumb and blind, wants to remain as minority leader in the House and is trying to convince everyone that election results had nothing to do with her at all. Her spin is that the results were due to poor voter participation, even insinuating that voting obstacles (voter ID?) were the main culprit.

Pelosi’s blind adherence to Obama’s agenda puts her very near the top of a list of reasons for Democrats’ demise. She has been deaf to the public’s wishes for quite some time and the mentioning of a “non-partisan challenge” in her letter to Democrats is surreal coming from her. It would be wise to put her out to pasture but Democrats may be on enough of a self-destructive path to keep her.

Even after acknowledging that Harry Reid was one of the reasons for election losses, most Democrats remaining in the Senate (speaking of self-destruction) want him as minority leader. Reid, who personally blocked everything coming from the House, now says he looks forward to working together with Mitch McConnell, but not working together is a main reason for Democrats losing the Senate.

The always irrational Daily KOS is worriedwe won’t be able to flex our muscles as the true American majority” for the next two years and inferred that the election losses came because the president “s**ts on immigrants”. One is hard-pressed to see how a totally open border, suspending immigration laws, and promising amnesty for illegals could be seen that way. Then, again, believing the “true American majority” holds similar views proves how delusional the Daily KOS is.

The manufactured “war on women” was supposed to bring votes for Democrats but it backfired, bringing votes for Republicans. Treating the American public as being dumb shows how deaf and blind Democrats have become under an Obama administration used to doing whatever it wants. Perhaps they will now wise up, but with Reid and Pelosi still calling the shots, that is highly unlikely.

NY Times Upset Over Democrat Panic

October 22, 2014

A recent NY Times editorial expressed dismay over the “panicky Democratic flight away from President Obama”, complaining that “nervous members of his own party have done a poor job of defending his policies over the nearly six years of his presidency” which allowed “a Republican narrative of failure to take hold”. That’s a lot of blind rationalization to swallow.

It is certainly not credible that a Republican “narrative” beat the media’s (especially the Times’) constant and unconditional positive spin on Obama. Who can really believe that Democrats (Pelosi, Reid, Chris Matthews, Barbara Boxer, etc.) didn’t defend his policies? That’s pretty much all they did while refusing to entertain or acknowledge any criticism. Only the Democrat panic part rings true.

The Times’ editorial board reached backward for successes but failed to see the failure those so-called “successes” have become. Pointing to the 2009 stimulus bill as a reason for economic recovery ignores the fact that our economy is still doing poorly and has not recovered. Boasting the creation of “2.5 million jobs” ignores that 75% of jobs created this year are part-time and that 9.5 million people have left the workforce under Obama’s poor economy.

Pointing to the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) as another “success” is laughable considering that it is a main factor responsible for all those part-time jobs and the exodus from the workforce. Rate increases, reduced coverage, policy cancelations, and uncertainty plague the nation (with more to come) in order to provide health insurance for approximately 10% of the population – and only 10% of those have actually obtained insurance so far. That’s one sad “success” story.

The NY Times’ editorial board makes no mention of foreign policy, Obama’s most glaring failure, or the continuing indecision he displays. Instead, they travel back to the good old days when blind faith in Obama ruled the day, all Democrats were in lock-step, and Obama’s word was sacred. Times have changed, but it seems that the Times hasn’t.

It’s time to vote for another “change”.

Pelosi’s Doomed Civilization

September 15, 2014

Vice President Biden’s gaffes are well known and many, often including Biden himself, just laugh and take what he says with a grain of salt. Nancy Pelosi, however, always wants to be taken seriously even when she out-gaffes Biden. The American Thinker takes her to task for her latest Pelosi-ism.

From the American Thinker:

Dressed like an elderly, upscale biker chick in a leather jacket that she accessorized with $10,000 Tahitian pearls, Nancy Pelosi recently…made an incoherent appearance on “Real Time with Bill Maher.” After sharing the apocalyptic prophesy with atheist Maher that if Republicans retake the Senate “civilization is doomed,” the woman whose political party is currently in the process of dooming civilization uttered the following load of rubbish: “Fear is a motivator, and we…” – as in Democrats – “are not fear mongers.”

It’s funny to hear Nancy Pelosi project onto Republicans the very thing she is, which is a fear peddler…This is the woman who…sounded an alarm to warn Americans that “Every week we don’t pass a Stimulus package, 500 million Americans lose their jobs…said that if the Republican’s “Protect Life Act” prevented Obamacare abortion funding, pregnant ‘women [would] die on the floor?’…warned America that if the House passed a bill that extended a federal pay freeze, it would “undermine the dignity” of a job…warned Americans that they should “be afraid” of the Supreme Court…

How Foot-in-Mouth Pelosi can say that Democrats are not “fear mongers” in the same breath as saying that “Civilization as we know it today would be in jeopardy if the Republicans win the Senate” does illustrate a level of cluelessness on Nancy’s part that is quite impressive.

Obama Wears No Pants

September 7, 2013

For the longest time, blinders enabled many to believe they had a leader in the White House who will fulfill their dream. Finally, the obvious is becoming recognized: The king wears no pants.

Yes, there are those who will stick with Obama regardless of his decisions or actions and go against their own long-held positions against military intervention of any sort and pay higher premiums for health care with less coverage. They are too heavily invested in ideology and will continue to see racism in every criticism in order to ease the burden of denying reality. However, many more are beginning to see for the first time.

It is like watching a slapstick comedy routine with Pelosi, Biden, Reid, Kerry, and other hardcore, partisan fools reversing positions they once held, pretending that military intervention is the president’s responsibility, and his alone. They even praised Obama as being courageous for going to Congress for approval, conveniently forgetting that Bush did so based on integrity, not indecision.

Obama has been given a pass on every blunder he made, and there have been many, but his lack of leadership, experience, and refusal to take responsibility can no longer be overlooked. He has positioned our country between a rock and a hard place with a foreign policy that emboldened enemies and alienated allies. His lack of leadership has been an embarrassment, and it has now become dangerous.

Focusing on social engineering and “fundamentally transforming America” into a progressive Eden has not only fractured our society; it has left the world with no direction or means to deal with the turmoil in the Middle East. The far-left’s desire to eradicate America as a super power has been advanced by the Obama administration to the point where keeping weapons of mass destruction out of the hands of terrorists may no longer be possible. Israel, surrounded by a sea of hate, may now be the world’s only hope, and the world is not friendly to Israel.

The proper course to take with Syria is not obvious. We are damned if we do and we may be damned if we don’t. What is obvious is that there is little trust in Obama making the right decision and even if he does, there is a growing feeling that he will somehow bungle that, too. We are deeply mired in Obama’s transformed America.

This Year’s Administration Scandals

December 30, 2011

Just in case you begin to believe those who blindly praise the Obama administration for being scandal free, Michelle Malkin provides a list of the past year’s scandals that makes it hard to keep one’s head in the sand. For a Chicago-bred politician like Obama, they may seem like standard operating procedures, but they are blots on his administration and good reasons to deny him a second term.

From Michelle Malkin

…the year kicked off in January with the departure of lying eco-radical czar Carol Browner. In backroom negotiations, she infamously bullied auto execs to “put nothing in writing, ever”… the White House’s own oil spill panel had singled out Browner for misleading the public about the scientific evidence for the administration’s Draconian drilling moratorium.

…Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, whose death came at the hands of a Mexican cartel thug wielding a Fast and Furious gun walked across the southern border under Attorney General Eric Holder’s watch…

…In February, federal judge Martin Feldman in Louisiana…called out the administration’s culture of contempt and “determined disregard” for the law…

…This spring saw rising public anger over the preferential Obamacare waiver process. Some 2,000 lucky golden ticket winners were freed from the costly federal mandates – including…restaurants in Aloha Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco district, the entire state of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s Nevada, and scores of local, state and national Big Labor organizations…

…Obama’s health and human services secretary, Kathleen Sebelius, faced separate legal questions over her overseer role in a hair-raising document-shredding case when she served as governor of Kansas…

…the politically driven half-billion-dollar Solyndra stimulus “investment” went bankrupt, prompting an FBI raid and ongoing criminal and congressional probes of the solar company…

…two high-ranking witnesses exposed how the White House had pressured them to alter their congressional testimony and play down concerns about LightSquared’s interference threat to military communications…

…Dem. Sen. Clair McCaskill of Missouri demanding a probe of the smelly $443 million no-bid smallpox antiviral pill contract with Siga Technologies – controlled by big lefty donor Ron Perelman…

… massive voter fraud in Indiana, where a Democratic official resigned amid allegations that “dozens, if not hundreds,” of signatures were faked to get Obama on the state primary ballot in 2008…

Desperation of the Left

October 10, 2011

Obama’s speech campaign is ringing hollow and his strategy of blaming Republicans for the foregone failure of his “job bill” that even Democrats don’t accept is falling flat. The curtain has been pulled back and his “job bill” has been exposed as nothing more than tax increases, his favorite solution for everything.

Nancy Pelosi is trying hard to milk success out of Obama’s term with assurances that without the stimulus bill, “unemployment would have hit 14.5%”. She further assured that “four million jobs will be created by the health care bill”. Neither has any basis in fact. Pelosi is waving crystal ball forecasts as reasons to re-elect Obama because there are no concrete successes to point to.

It is somewhat strange that Pelosi and the liberal media are starting to back the “Occupy Wall Street” protesters. Pelosi says that “they are angry that they don’t have jobs”, but that just spotlights Obama’s failure to ‘stimulate’ job creation. There seems to be no cohesiveness to the protests, but that does mirror the Obama administration’s operating procedure.

Protesting for the sake of protesting has always been a favorite of the left, but the NY Times’ Tea Party hating columnist Paul Krugman is spinning legitimacy. He says “…there has in fact been nothing so far to match the behavior of Tea Party crowds in the summer of 2009”.  This comes after 700 protesters were arrested in NY City along with hundreds of others around the country and very few, if any, arrests at Tea Parties.

Krugman never did have a grasp of reality but he is right in one respect. The “Occupy Wall Street” behavior certainly does not match the behavior of the Tea Party crowds. Arrests would have to end, reasons for protesting would have to materialize, common sense would have to make an appearance, and they would have to clean up after themselves to even come close to emulating Tea Party behavior. Don’t hold your breath – unless you’re at one of the protests.

“We” Version of Obama in Jobs Speech

September 9, 2011

It is revealing that during president Obama’s jobs speech, he used the word “we” more than 90 times. This differs from many of Obama’s former speeches where the word “I” was egotistically predominant. In this jobs speech, he only used “I” about 24 times. Is this significant?

Perhaps he is trying to distance himself from the current economical problems. Although his job speech had the ambiance of a campaign speech, he seemed to be trying to pass himself off as just another average American citizen tired of the morass of Washington. Continually stating “we” allowed him to wash his hands of personal responsibility for that morass.

Interestingly enough, there was an implied admittance of failure in Obama’s speech. After months of trying to put a positive spin on the economy, Obama finally admitted that “we” face an “urgent time” in this “economic crisis”. He admitted that recovery will not be driven by Washington, but by businesses and workers. For someone who has demonstrated a belief that government is the answer to everything, this is an astonishing reversal and it implies that his past attempts to have government fix everything have failed – and they certainly have.

Using “we” is an attempt by Obama to sidestep the spotlight of blame. He stayed away from blame so far that he didn’t even blame Bush, his favorite scapegoat. That, too, is a reversal, and admittance that “we”, the people, are very tired of hearing him blame Bush for everything.

Then, again, Obama could not stay away from his favorite solution: more taxes. Taking a page out of Pelosi’s strange book, Obama told us that “we” must pass this bill before “we” find out how it will be payed for. This, of course, will mean more taxes, an admission on his part that he is happy to make.

Obama told us seventeen times that we had to pass this bill, almost as many times as he said “I”. One has to wonder if the urgency implied by his repetition is about re-election or the nation’s economy. If he was truly a part of “we” as he tried to convey, he would know that “we” understand fully which one it is.

Pelosi – Denial and Conquer

November 10, 2010

In an op-ed in USA Today, Nancy Pelosi spins the party line that she expects will negate the disastrous mid-term election results the Democrats have suffered. Refusing to admit that there was any message in those results regarding the agenda she, along with Obama, has been pushing, she is advocating a tactic of denial and conquer to win the hearts and minds of the American majority.

To Pelosi, the mid-term elections were all about jobs. Nothing else seems to have been at issue. She “humbly” admits that Democrats are disappointed with the rate of job growth, but goes on to tell us “it does not diminish what we have accomplished”. The idea that some of those “accomplishments” even had many Democrats distancing themselves from the fallout never registers with Nancy.

She touts the “experts” calling the 111th Congress the most productive in half a century, “putting the American people before politics”. This is a denial of the forced partisan passage of bills that blatantly disregarded the majority of American’s wishes. It also displays her misguided idea that the mere passage of a bill, any bill, is “productive” and a sign of success. In reality, the passage of a few of those bills was the catalyst for the disastrous election results.

Throughout the op-ed, Pelosi stresses the need for Democrats to “create” jobs, the focus of her denial and conquer strategy. The problem with this is that it is not the government’s responsibility to create jobs. It never was. Jobs are created by businesses, and government should only be concerned with helping to create an atmosphere that is favorable to business growth. It may be that Pelosi considers growing the bureaucracy of government to be job creation, but that is one of those issues that hurt Democrats in the elections.

Pelosi seems intent on denying any message of agenda rejection in the elections. This is already the direction many Democrats have taken and Pelosi is trying to maintain her leadership. It seems that the lemmings are headed to the sea with Pelosi in the lead once again.

Pelosi’s Favorability Reaches New Low

October 20, 2010

From Gallup

Since May, Pelosi has lost 7 percentage points in her favorable rating. That probably isn’t as low as Pelosi has shown she is willing to go in her political actions, but it is a new low in her rating. Perhaps she can hit bottom by November.

Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s favorable rating is down seven percentage points since May to 29%, a new low for her since assuming the top congressional post…Independents in particular have become more negative about Pelosi, with her favorability dwindling nine points among this group since May…Pelosi’s image has gone from bad to worse in recent months…Pelosi’s subdued favorability among Democrats and highly negative image among independents suggest she is a far riskier person for Democratic candidates to be associated with…

Tax Breaks Needed for Votes

September 29, 2010

A letter signed by 31 Democrats was sent to Nancy Pelosi urging the extension of the expiring tax breaks for all income levels. Most of these Democrats are up for re-election in November and are facing angry voters wanting a real “change” in leadership. It seems they have now seen the light, but only when it illuminated their poor chances for re-election.

The Tea Party Movement most Democrats tried to ignore came about because of taxation. If they hadn’t tried so hard to marginalize the Tea Party, Democrats would have realized long ago that the tax breaks needed to remain in place. They bought into their own false, bumper sticker philosophy of “tax breaks for the rich”, a mantra contrived as a defense against Tea Party anger. Once again, they were wrong, and they are scrambling to make up ground.

Not only are many Democrats staying as far away from the Obama/Pelosi agenda as they can, they are now beginning to jump on the opposition’s bandwagon. Some are beginning to doubt the benefits of Obamacare and the Stimulus Bill as well as finding wisdom in the tax breaks. It has always been said that politics makes strange bedfellows, but elections are the real engine for strange behavior.

It is obvious to those paying attention that many who seem to be seeing the light are only out to get votes. They don’t truly believe in tax breaks, especially for those who they consider “rich”. They believe in more taxes, more government, and more social programs. Unfortunately, not everyone is paying attention and the ruse may bring a few votes for some pretenders.

Hopefully, a majority of Americans will see through the smoke screen and vote accordingly. Backing the tax breaks is too little much too late to make up for the past two years of arrogant, ideological leadership.
