Deranged Alarmist Predictions

March 26, 2015

Global warming…oops…make that Climate change alarmists pontificate, extrapolate, and exaggerate in extreme ways to push their views. Senior House Democrat Barbara Lee from California takes it to a level that is as ridiculous as it is apocalyptic.

According to Lee, climate change (though she really means global warming) will cause food and water scarcity that will hit women the hardest. Why? Because it could force many women to barter sexual favors for food. Furthermore, “[F]ood insecure women with limited socioeconomic resources may be vulnerable to situations such as sex work, transactional sex, and early marriage that put them at risk for HIV, STIs, unplanned pregnancy, and poor reproductive health”.

Turning every issue into a women’s issue is getting as old as playing the race card – and of course, global warming has been predicted to disproportionately impact communities of color. Barbara Lee lumps women together with orange-spotted filefish, polar bears, Adelie penguins, North Atlantic cod, golden toads, and Asia – all of which have been predicted to be hit the hardest by global warming.

Things said to be caused, worsened, or damaged by global warming have become ridiculous. The Syrian civil war and the Ebola outbreak may sound crazy, but they seem reasonable compared to other items on an almost endless list. Global warming could produce huge harvests in places where crops have never grown or cause ice bergs to float onto shores where fresh water is desperately needed or provide new lands that are currently uninhabitable, but those predictions do not fit the agenda.

Barbara Lee has no particular background or training qualifying her to make such a prediction. All she has is a religious conviction in her belief of global warming, no doubt blessed by Al Gore, and a feminist axe to grind. Unfortunately, she is a member of the House of Representatives and that gives her a veneer of authority she does not deserve.

Panetta Shatters the Façade

October 11, 2014

Former CIA Chief and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has shattered the liberal façade of competency concerning Obama’s foreign policies with his newly released book “Worthy Fights”. Trying mightily to remain a loyal Democrat and loyal to the president, Panetta has not been able to hide deep concern over Obama’s foreign policy failures and lack of leadership.

In multiple interviews since his book’s release, Panetta revealed more than may be evident in the book about Obama’s indecisiveness, lack of leadership, and political obsessiveness. He also validated critics’ allegations that Obama continually dismisses recommendations from military advisers and the intelligence community, making decisions based on political and ideological factors.

Panetta tries hard not to put all the blame on Obama for pulling our troops out of Iraq, but he does admit that Obama’s efforts to convince Iraq’s government to allow troops to remain were weak at best and it was a mistake. This is one of Obama’s decisions based on political ramifications and personal ideology that many supporters try to deny was wrong.

Panetta points to Obama’s indecision and lack of action concerning the “red line” in Syria as being a policy failure that combined with our troop pull-out from Iraq to produce a rampaging ISIS. Panetta also admits telling Obama up front that Benghazi was a terrorist attack and believes that further investigation is needed. This suggests an administration cover up.

Leon Panetta (Democrat) is highly experienced and has held many top-level positions throughout his career. His concerns should be taken seriously by all and serve as a wake-up call to blind followers. So far, the mainstream media has decided to focus only on his alleged “disloyalty” to Obama, pointing to the book’s release while Obama is still in office as some sort of breach of protocol.

The mainstream media’s investment in Obama has superseded concern for the country’s well-being, allowing Obama’s failing foreign policies to continue unchallenged. Panetta’s book seems to be a desperate plea for all to make a realistic evaluation of Obama and his dangerous policies. His concerns should not be taken lightly.

November’s elections are the first step to reversing our failing direction. Vote wisely.

See No Evil

August 25, 2014

ISIS is a large, well-financed, blood-thirsty army storming unimpeded through Iraq murdering all who do not agree to their repressive demands. They have ravaged Syria, beheaded an American (with two more US captives being threatened), demanded (and received) ransoms from European countries, are in the process of taking over Iraq, and have informed us that they are intent on coming to the U.S. to kill as many as possible, having our open southern border available for easy entry.

Here’s what the Daily Kos, which sees no evil, thinks of ISIS: “You know how much threat ISIS represents to the United States? None…ISIS is a ragtag organization on the far side of the world…ISIS could no more threaten the United States than Lindsey Graham could punch God in the nose…You know what ISIS is? A bunch of politicians…They are not a threat…”

Michael J. Boyle of the NY Times tells us the beheading of American journalist James Foley has “led to a disturbing return of the moralistic language once used to describe Al Qaeda in the panicked days after the 9/11 attacks.” Boyle worries that condemning ISIS as evil “conveys a moral clarity and separates ourselves and our tactics from the enemy and theirs”. Boyle should be thankful we have the moral clarity to separate ourselves from the tactics of ISIS. Moral clarity helped make this country great.

The attack on 9/11 by a small band of terrorists was certainly evil and it wreaked havoc on our entire economy and changed our way of life. The NY Times refuses to accept it as evil and The Daily Kos would have us believe that a much larger, better financed, and highly motivated terrorist army such as ISIS poses no threat. Far-left heads are buried in moral equivalent sand.

Perhaps an even larger threat to our country comes from those believing in the idealistic and foolish notion of moral equivalency. Allowing it to become government policy is as dangerous as it gets and proudly proclaiming it is just stupid.

Fear Not – Biden’s Coming

March 19, 2014

Eastern Europe is now experiencing, up close, the consequences of a weak American president. President Obama, hailed as a breath of fresh air and destined to drag the United States into the “enlightened” world, was expected to be a great “Uniter” using nothing more than touchy-feely rhetoric. The bad guys didn’t buy it.

Obama’s foreign policy has been centered on making friends with bad guys, alienating good guys, and using words as a deterrent. Israel no longer considers us a reliable ally and has accused the United States of projecting weakness internationally. Russia’s deputy prime minister laughed at Obama’s sanctions against 11 people (read that again – 11 people!) resulting almost immediately in Russia annexing Crimea. Iran thumbs its nose at Obama every chance it gets and North Korea is firing rockets provocatively into the Sea of Japan. Obama’s answer to growing aggression in the world has been to make cuts to our military.

To reassure European allies concerned about Russia’s action in Ukraine, Obama is sending vice president Joe Biden, the court jester. How reassuring is that? People laugh at the mere mention of Biden’s name. Unless he arrives with a squadron of fighter jets, a few thousand troops, and a missile defense system, there will be little assurance. It will just be another insult to our allies.

The world will be wrestling with the damage caused by a weak American president for quite some time and, unfortunately, there may be much more on the horizon. The leader of the free world is proving to be no leader. Leading from behind didn’t work in Syria and it is now a joke amusing only Putin. Eastern Europe is not laughing. Perhaps Biden will bring a smile.

How Wrong Can One Be?

March 5, 2014

Obama has turned out to be wrong most of the time but that is rarely acknowledged by true believers. For the idealistic, he “has to” be right, therefore, failure cannot occur, but it does and it has – consistently.

The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) is turning out to be a catastrophe. Almost everything promised is turning out to be wrong while all the predictions heard from Senator Mike Enzi (and others) that were mocked are turning out to be right. Experts were ignored in favor of Obama’s “superior intelligence” and now provisions of the law are being delayed by Obama solely to keep the stink away from campaigning Democrats.

The Stimulus failed to revive the economy but believers claim it a success by saying our economy would be much worse if it was never put in place. Conveniently, that can never be proved, but it allows followers to deny failure and pretend they are right.

Global warming, rhetorically changed to “climate change” to ease embarrassment, fuels Obama’s continuing green policies even though predictions continue to prove wrong. Resent research conducted by the Environmental Policy Alliance shows that buildings receiving green energy certification use more energy than non-green buildings, but Obama’s “green” agenda continues to waste taxpayer money for idealistic purposes.

Russia’s invasion of the Ukraine is a direct result of Obama’s failed foreign policies. His inexperience and lack of decisiveness with Syria broadcast his weakness to the world. Putin has no fear of Obama and is taking full advantage just as Iran played him for a fool and is now on the verge of having a nuclear weapon. Allies (e.g. Israel) have been insulted while enemies have been appeased and USA world leadership and respect is at an all-time low.

Obama was also wrong about: Ushering in a “post racial” and “open door” administration; closing Gitmo; creating shovel ready jobs; Obamacare not being a tax; insurance rates going down; keeping one’s health plan; comprehensive immigration reform in his first term; Benghazi attack caused by video; Al Qaeda being decimated; unemployment reduction; and so much more.

How wrong can one be? For the sake of the country we can only hope we don’t find out.

What Happened in 2013?

January 2, 2014

A few notable occurrences in 2013:

Obama’s bailout of the American auto industry with taxpayer money resulted in Chrysler no longer being an American company. It is now owned by Fiat, an Italian company, which profited from the bailout that, in the end, cost taxpayers $1.3 billion.

Iraq had its deadliest year since 2008 with 8,868 Iraqis killed in 2013. After Obama pulled our troops out, essentially abandoning Iraq, Al-Qaida took advantage as predicted and violence is now increasing. We also abandoned a strategic military base in Iraq that may prove costly as the Middle East continues to explode.

Obamacare kicked in with little preparation and much confusion, shocking even the hardcore left with its incompetency. Even more shocking was the revelation that Obama lied about being able to keep your doctor and health insurance plan. Sticker shock also set in as costs for insurance plans began to surface.

Smoking bans expanded to parks and beaches and higher taxes on cigarettes increased across the nation in the continuing effort to eliminate smoking. Ironically, marijuana smoking for medicinal purposes increased and legalization of the recreational smoking of marijuana kicked off in Denver where pot smoking tours for out-of-state visitors are now being conducted.

Global warming dire predictions increased in direct proportion to reports debunking manmade global warming. The declared “scientific consensus” on manmade global warming has still not been reached; the Arctic sea ice coverage increased rather than decreased; scientists’ predictions of global cooling increased; and the 17th year of no increase in global temperature was reached.

Nothing was accomplished on comprehensive immigration reform other than to re-define it as “amnesty” in everyone’s mind. More promises to secure the border were made, and ignored, while amnesty for illegal immigrants became the de facto solution for reform.

The U.S. lost more respect and credibility around the world as Obama rashly set a red line on Syria that he then blatantly ignored and allowed Iran to stall for time to obtain a nuclear weapon.

Abortion and birth control became “rights” with no personal responsibilities attached.

Miley Cyrus changed her image by lowering the decency bar for celebrities (as if it wasn’t low enough) and provided a new role model for young girls that will cause parents to lose sleep for years to come. Alec Baldwin, on the other hand, remained consistent as a complete ass.

A Week Filled With Denial

September 30, 2013

President Obama lead the way in denial this week, stating that there will be no harm to the economy from Obamacare. This flies in the face of facts that show company lay-offs, freezes on hiring, decreases in full-time employees, and increases in part-time employment due to Obamacare – as well as premium increases.

Obama also brought his denial into the international arena by opening up negotiations with Iran based on obvious lies from the new Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani. This guy promised to stop Iran’s quest for a nuclear weapon – a quest he very recently claimed didn’t even exist. Obama is pretending this is real in the same way he is pretending Syria’s giving up chemical weapons is real.

These denials help Obama keep face and smooth his remaining years in the White House, but they are very dangerous to the entire world. Iran used Obama like a puppet for years, stalling for time to complete manufacture of a nuclear weapon, which is now close at hand. Putin is pulling those same puppet strings, allowing Syria to keep chemical weapons and a lucrative partnership with Russia.

Under Obama’s policies, the United States has lost world influence and grown weaker, but Obama boasted at the UN this week that “the world is safer than it was five years ago” because of his policies. Obama also took credit for helping Putin defuse Syria’s chemical weapon use. Putin erased Obama’s problematic red line and regained previously lost influence in the Middle East through Obama’s bungling, yet, Obama unabashedly pretended it was a personal diplomatic coup.

Of course, the UN is the ideal place for pretense. The UN climate panel just proclaimed that it is “extremely likely” that climate change is man-made, based on a new report it received. Conveniently, the panel ignored everything in the report that pointed otherwise, and there is much that does, such as: No increase in global temperature in the past 15 years; an increase rather than decrease in Antarctic ice; admission of inaccurate models, and many other findings that do not point to man-made global warming.

The best denial of the week, however, goes to Sheikh Saleh bin Saad al-Lohaidan, a Saudi Arabian cleric who defended banning women from driving because it “…could have negative physiological impacts as functional and physiological medical studies show that it automatically affects the ovaries and pushes the pelvis upwards…” This doesn’t sound quite like president Obama, but it does sound a lot like a UN interpretation of a medical report.

Putin 2, Assad 1, Obama 0, UN -2

September 11, 2013

The Middle East scores are in and Putin takes the lead handily from a fumbling Obama while the UN continues to be a useless waste of time and money. Syria’s Assad gets away with the use of chemical weapons and solidifies partnership with the clear winner, Putin.

In a speech to the nation, Obama explained why force against Syria is necessary and why he is asking Congress for approval. He also expounded on his personal reluctance to use force. Then, he postponed the Congressional vote to use the force he just told us is necessary, based on the hope that a Hail Mary pass from Putin will remove this distasteful burden from his shoulders and allow him to concentrate on transforming America.

Obama also told us that the use of chemical weapons by Syria broke international law and cannot be ignored. Where, then, is the UN? Isn’t this one of the reasons for its existence? Do we need any more proof that the UN is a useless organization.

Putin took an off-hand remark by Kerry, that Syria could avoid an attack by giving up its chemical weapons, and used it as a means of returning Russia to a leadership role in the Middle East, one that was lost for decades. Syria will follow Putin’s lead, pretending to give up its chemical weapons, because Russia is its only friend – and it will stop a military strike.

Furthering Russia’s influence and leadership in the Middle East, Putin is now going to renew a previously cancelled offer to supply Iran with air defense missile systems and a nuclear reactor. This puts Iran and Syria in Putin’s pocket. How long before Egypt sees the way the wind is blowing?

Obama’s handling of the Middle East removed us from Iraq without leaving even one military base (which would have come in handy right now); gave Iran more time to develop nuclear weapons; ignored the turmoil in Egypt; alienated Israel; reduced our influence; and emboldened Syria to use chemical weapons.

Unbelievably, Obama will now be praised by the left for handling the Syria crisis without military involvement and be given credit for Putin’s solution. Embarrassment over his bumbling lack of leadership will be forgotten and he will be put back up on the pedestal. How sweet that blindness must be. For the rest of us there is only disgust.

Liberals Paint Themselves Into a Corner

September 9, 2013

We have been inundated with the liberal meme that criticizing Obama means you are a racist. Fear of being labeled a racist has produced silence from many who would otherwise speak against his policies. Now, that meme is backfiring on liberals as Obama is on the verge of attacking Syria.

Radical leftist Ed Asner let the cat out of the bag when he told the Hollywood Reporter that there is little outcry in Hollywood over Obama’s war efforts because “A lot of people don’t want to feel anti-black by being opposed to Obama”. They have painted themselves into a corner with their racist meme and are now dumbfounded.

The silence from the likes of Matt Damon, Tim Robbins, Barbra Streisand, Alec Baldwin, Janeane Garofalo, and so many more anti-war Bush bashers is deafening. These are people convinced of the idealistic notion that the only valid reason to resort to war is if free birth control is withheld from grade school kids. Now, fear of opposing their liberal, black hero, has them biting their tongues.

It would be laughable if it weren’t so pathetic – and it sure is pathetic. Liberal accusations of conservatives criticizing Obama because he is black have been turned around and proven to be a reason the left backs everything Obama does. Does that make them racists? In their twisted world, it certainly would, but most conservatives know better. It is just hypocrisy fueled by the two burning fires of liberalism: guilt and idealism.

Obama Wears No Pants

September 7, 2013

For the longest time, blinders enabled many to believe they had a leader in the White House who will fulfill their dream. Finally, the obvious is becoming recognized: The king wears no pants.

Yes, there are those who will stick with Obama regardless of his decisions or actions and go against their own long-held positions against military intervention of any sort and pay higher premiums for health care with less coverage. They are too heavily invested in ideology and will continue to see racism in every criticism in order to ease the burden of denying reality. However, many more are beginning to see for the first time.

It is like watching a slapstick comedy routine with Pelosi, Biden, Reid, Kerry, and other hardcore, partisan fools reversing positions they once held, pretending that military intervention is the president’s responsibility, and his alone. They even praised Obama as being courageous for going to Congress for approval, conveniently forgetting that Bush did so based on integrity, not indecision.

Obama has been given a pass on every blunder he made, and there have been many, but his lack of leadership, experience, and refusal to take responsibility can no longer be overlooked. He has positioned our country between a rock and a hard place with a foreign policy that emboldened enemies and alienated allies. His lack of leadership has been an embarrassment, and it has now become dangerous.

Focusing on social engineering and “fundamentally transforming America” into a progressive Eden has not only fractured our society; it has left the world with no direction or means to deal with the turmoil in the Middle East. The far-left’s desire to eradicate America as a super power has been advanced by the Obama administration to the point where keeping weapons of mass destruction out of the hands of terrorists may no longer be possible. Israel, surrounded by a sea of hate, may now be the world’s only hope, and the world is not friendly to Israel.

The proper course to take with Syria is not obvious. We are damned if we do and we may be damned if we don’t. What is obvious is that there is little trust in Obama making the right decision and even if he does, there is a growing feeling that he will somehow bungle that, too. We are deeply mired in Obama’s transformed America.
