Labels Matter

June 18, 2016

Obama scoffed at critics wanting to know why he will not use the label “radical Islamists” when speaking about terrorism. In a speech filled with ridicule, a standard leftist tactic, Obama asked: “…what exactly using this label would accomplish and what will it change”? This is as disingenuous as it is hypocritical.

What about illegal immigrants labeled as “undocumented workers”? How about “pro-choice” for killing the unborn? What about the “war on women” that is no war? How about the “Party of no” for the GOP? What about the “Affordable Care Act” that continues to increase rather than decrease health care costs? What about the most-used label of all, “racist”, for anyone who disagrees?

Obama and liberal progressives constantly use labels that accomplish masking reality and making an unrealistic agenda more palatable to the masses. Let’s not forget that Obama, who ran for office under the label “The One”, infamously labeled ISIS as the “JV team”. He has even used the vulgar label “tea baggers” in reference to the Tea Party.

It is necessary to identify an enemy in order to defeat it and Obama’s refusal to acknowledge radical Islamists as the enemy has his entire administration and the military concentrating on being politically correct and not offending anyone. The Homeland Security Advisory Council just released a report instructing the DHS not to use any language that might be “disrespectful” to Muslims, including (but not limited to) the words “jihad” and “sharia”, so it seems that labels DO matter as long as they advance the Obama agenda.

Because supporters have labeled him “supremely intelligent”, president Obama arrogantly spews whatever he wishes, expecting everyone to accept his spin as gospel. He has been pissing in our ears and telling us it’s raining for almost eight years, using sarcasm and ridicule to dismiss criticism. As a result, our enemy has been encouraged to escalate its war against us while our efforts have been spent trying not to offend them.

That deserves to be labeled “failure”.

Obamanet to Replace Internet

February 24, 2015

Obamacare, the Affordable Care Act passed by Democrats in Congress (no Republicans) who did not read what was in it, brought chaos to health insurance, reduced actual health care, raised premiums (and taxes) for those with insurance, and initiated the loss of millions of full-time jobs.

Now we are facing Obamanet, approved by the votes of three Democrat commissioners on a five-member Federal Communications Commission who followed Obama’s wishes. Backed by over 300 pages of new regulations, the internet will become government regulated and subjected to key provisions of Title II of the Communications Act of 1934 under which the FCC oversaw Ma Bell – or we should say “broke up” Ma Bell.

Unless Congress or the courts block Obamanet, everything on the internet will have to pass a “just and reasonable” test administered by government bureaucrats who are certainly not known for being just or reasonable. One can expect the internet will run with the same efficiency as the VA and the same simplicity as Obamacare. It will also run slower, similar to the internet in Europe where regulations have curtailed broadband’s reach and staunched new investments in broadband.

Once again this president is forcing his personal agenda onto the nation, bypassing Congress, and using executive orders, presidential memoranda, and departmental regulations to make new laws that affect the entire nation. His “transformation of America” is highly influenced by a Marxist-Leninist class-struggle point of view he embraced in college while associating with radicals. This view is also protected by an elitist ego denying the validity of criticism.

If our representatives in Congress do not stop this runaway administration, there will be more irreversible damage. If you do not see the danger, you are part of the problem.

How Wrong Can One Be?

March 5, 2014

Obama has turned out to be wrong most of the time but that is rarely acknowledged by true believers. For the idealistic, he “has to” be right, therefore, failure cannot occur, but it does and it has – consistently.

The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) is turning out to be a catastrophe. Almost everything promised is turning out to be wrong while all the predictions heard from Senator Mike Enzi (and others) that were mocked are turning out to be right. Experts were ignored in favor of Obama’s “superior intelligence” and now provisions of the law are being delayed by Obama solely to keep the stink away from campaigning Democrats.

The Stimulus failed to revive the economy but believers claim it a success by saying our economy would be much worse if it was never put in place. Conveniently, that can never be proved, but it allows followers to deny failure and pretend they are right.

Global warming, rhetorically changed to “climate change” to ease embarrassment, fuels Obama’s continuing green policies even though predictions continue to prove wrong. Resent research conducted by the Environmental Policy Alliance shows that buildings receiving green energy certification use more energy than non-green buildings, but Obama’s “green” agenda continues to waste taxpayer money for idealistic purposes.

Russia’s invasion of the Ukraine is a direct result of Obama’s failed foreign policies. His inexperience and lack of decisiveness with Syria broadcast his weakness to the world. Putin has no fear of Obama and is taking full advantage just as Iran played him for a fool and is now on the verge of having a nuclear weapon. Allies (e.g. Israel) have been insulted while enemies have been appeased and USA world leadership and respect is at an all-time low.

Obama was also wrong about: Ushering in a “post racial” and “open door” administration; closing Gitmo; creating shovel ready jobs; Obamacare not being a tax; insurance rates going down; keeping one’s health plan; comprehensive immigration reform in his first term; Benghazi attack caused by video; Al Qaeda being decimated; unemployment reduction; and so much more.

How wrong can one be? For the sake of the country we can only hope we don’t find out.
