The Trump Card

July 21, 2015

According to the media, everyone is outraged over Donald Trump’s remarks concerning John McCain. According to the media, the American people would never vote for Trump and if he doesn’t apologize to McCain, he will have to quit the race.

The media, however, has no clue what the majority of American people think. The media has been making self-serving, biased claims for so long that it now believes its own hype. The media has bullied politicians into cowering in fear but Donald Trump is not cowering and not apologizing – and the media is stunned.

Donald Trump may not realistically have much of a chance of becoming president, but his continuing popularity baffles and scares those convinced everyone thinks as the media does. People, however, are tired of the media and Trump’s refusal to bow to media pressure, along with daring to speak his mind, is a breath of fresh air.

Hillary is trying to manipulate media exposure, isolate herself from the slime of her own scandals, and reinvent an acceptable image for voters. Bernie Sanders is moving the far-left boundary even further left, trying to take advantage of Hillary’s unpopularity and the left’s dissatisfaction with Obama’s failure to turn America into a progressive utopia. GOP candidates are shedding or concealing conservative principles as they try to attract minority voters who have been brainwashed into voting for Democrats regardless of qualifications or issues. Donald Trump is simply being himself – and that is intriguing to many.

Openly addressing our illegal immigrant and border problems may end up being Trump’s biggest contribution to the presidential campaign, but it is huge. Until Trump dared speak out, amnesty was THE immigration topic for the media while Mexico, illegal immigrant felons, refusal to enforce immigration laws, and sanctuary cities were downplayed as side issues. Trump spoke openly of reality and defied the media, changing the landscape for the presidential campaign.

The Trump Card has been played against the left’s Race Card and is proving to be powerful. For that, many are grateful.

Obamigration Update

February 10, 2015

President Obama, using executive orders and presidential memoranda, is fully engaged in changing, ignoring, and creating immigration laws as he sees fit. He has essentially given millions of illegal aliens immunity from deportation and, as a result, many more are flooding our border to take part in Obamigration.

Efforts to seal our border are practically non-existent and rather than trying to protect our country from the danger of criminals entering illegally, Homeland Security is setting up hotlines to help protect illegal immigrants who believe their rights have been violated. The Mexican government is doing its part by having its consulates in the U.S. issue birth certificates to Mexican citizens to help them squeeze whatever they can from our government.

It is not just Mexicans and South Americans coming here illegally. Since 2010, there has also been a 217% increase in Cubans crossing through our southern border because it is much easier and safer than any ocean passage. This will, no doubt, increase further due to president Obama’s normalizing relations with Cuba. Fanatic Islamic terrorists, too, are well aware of our porous southern border but that, as well as their very existence, is being denied.

As more Americans become alarmed, Obama has accelerated rather than curbed his personal immigration plan. His newest plan will allow illegals here to bring their children, their adult children, their grandchildren and even step-parents into the United States. It will also allow current unmarried illegals to marry someone in Central America then sponsor them for US citizenship.

The icing on Obama’s amnesty cake will come via the IRS. Illegal aliens benefiting from Obama’s amnesty plan will receive tax credits for as many as three years that they worked here illegally. In other words, they will not only be allowed to stay and get fast-tracked for American citizenship, they will be rewarded for having been here illegally.

Welcome to the “transformation of America”. You are obviously a racist if you do not like it.

King Obama

November 21, 2014

Obama once said “I am not a dictator”, but that left the title of “king” open for grabs and all he needs now is a crown. He distances himself from all mistakes and negativity like a king, lies like a king, and makes and breaks the law like a king. Furthermore, his staff, supporters, and the media refuse (fear?) to tell him he wears no pants and treat his rhetoric as royal fiat.

Obama’s latest royal fiat granting amnesty to illegal aliens falls right in line with his disrespect for the law and the Constitution, his disgust with this country, and his intent to “transform” America to match his personal views. If you’re surprised by this action you had your head in the sand for the past 6 years.

The reason given for this executive order is basically because he’s tired of waiting for Congress to do what he wants them to do. That is one of the best examples of egotistical arrogance one can find. Unabashedly announcing that he would wait until after the mid-term elections to do this was another example of arrogance and it was the only “transparency” from his White House we have seen.

He is on a kingly ego trip many still refuse to see but one that will certainly end up as a subject for historians. His speeches are heavily laden with “I” and “me” regardless of the circumstances. All wrongs are blamed on evil Republicans or FOX News and he ignores military and other expert advice if it doesn’t fit his preconceived, personal agenda.

President Nixon was accused of acting like a king, raked over the coals, and driven out of office for far less arrogance. President George W. Bush was demeaned and accused of “going it alone” by a liberal media now applauding Obama for sidestepping Congress and “going it alone”. The hypocrisy here is pathetic as it will be again when a future Republican president follows this precedent.

Obama has “transformed” himself into a king and far too many people have their heads stuck in an idealistic cloud to see the danger. We will be dealing with the unintended consequences for a long, long time.

Arrogant Overreach

November 13, 2014

Fingers are being pointed and excuses are being drummed up as Democrats scramble to find reasons for the beat-down they received in the mid-term elections. If they would step outside their agenda for a moment they would see the one basic reason: arrogant overreach.

Arrogance is a far-left characteristic that Obama brought to the White House and it infected his administration and the entire Democrat Party. It fueled the false beliefs that Obama had a “mandate” to transform America and that his far-left social engineering agenda was acceptable to the majority.

Because of these false “beliefs”, Obama was given free reign from Democrats and the media to do whatever he wished. This allowed Obamacare to get hastily passed into law by a Democrat Congress ignorant of its contents and willfully blind to the deceit used to sell it.

The quick and successful passage of Obamacare convinced Democrats they had a righteous infallibility and when combined with arrogance, it compelled them to overreach on almost every issue. Critics were demeaned, silenced, and ignored as free birth control, abortions, open borders, amnesty, higher taxes, troop pullout, drones, part-time jobs, bailouts, increased food stamps, school lunch programs, and much more was dumped onto society.

Obama and Democrats arrogantly forced too much too quickly. It was political overreach. Failure of many of Obama’s foreign policies can also be attributed to overreach. The world doesn’t accept change any quicker than society does, especially without investigating the consequences.

This mid-term election was proof of the adage that “pride comes before the fall”. One can debate whether pride or arrogance comes first, but they are almost always found together. One can also debate Jonathan Gruber’s claim of taking advantage of the “stupidity of the American voter” but it is a known fact that taking voter stupidity for granted can be perilous. Just ask any Democrat.

Deaf, Dumb, and Blind

November 7, 2014

Deaf, dumb, and blind ideologues have not been swayed in the least by election results and are out spinning like spiders on steroids. President Obama, who told us his policies were on the ballot, totally ignored that in his voter-defying speech, thus, beginning the current spin cycle.

Nancy Pelosi, the epitome of deaf, dumb and blind, wants to remain as minority leader in the House and is trying to convince everyone that election results had nothing to do with her at all. Her spin is that the results were due to poor voter participation, even insinuating that voting obstacles (voter ID?) were the main culprit.

Pelosi’s blind adherence to Obama’s agenda puts her very near the top of a list of reasons for Democrats’ demise. She has been deaf to the public’s wishes for quite some time and the mentioning of a “non-partisan challenge” in her letter to Democrats is surreal coming from her. It would be wise to put her out to pasture but Democrats may be on enough of a self-destructive path to keep her.

Even after acknowledging that Harry Reid was one of the reasons for election losses, most Democrats remaining in the Senate (speaking of self-destruction) want him as minority leader. Reid, who personally blocked everything coming from the House, now says he looks forward to working together with Mitch McConnell, but not working together is a main reason for Democrats losing the Senate.

The always irrational Daily KOS is worriedwe won’t be able to flex our muscles as the true American majority” for the next two years and inferred that the election losses came because the president “s**ts on immigrants”. One is hard-pressed to see how a totally open border, suspending immigration laws, and promising amnesty for illegals could be seen that way. Then, again, believing the “true American majority” holds similar views proves how delusional the Daily KOS is.

The manufactured “war on women” was supposed to bring votes for Democrats but it backfired, bringing votes for Republicans. Treating the American public as being dumb shows how deaf and blind Democrats have become under an Obama administration used to doing whatever it wants. Perhaps they will now wise up, but with Reid and Pelosi still calling the shots, that is highly unlikely.

Look Behind the Curtain

June 12, 2014

We are being told Dave Brat’s upset of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in the Virginia Republican primary was a Tea Party win. This comes after a long media campaign to convince us that the Tea Party is dead. The Tea Party was sneered upon and belittled at every opportunity in order to convince us it was irrelevant. Why, then, has there been such a quick and unanimous acknowledgment of its success?

Along with this acknowledgment comes a concentrated effort to discredit Cantor’s muddled stance on immigration as a factor and therein lies one answer. Amnesty for illegal immigrants is being rammed down the country’s throat with executive orders from president Obama who, unilaterally, is defining immigration policies his way. This has become more important than discrediting the Tea Party.

Brat made Cantor’s softness on immigration an issue. By trying to straddle the middle ground on immigration, Cantor alienated voters in his very conservative district as well as across the state. Had Cantor taken a definitive stance either way, he may have won. Lindsey Graham, an unapologetic champion of bipartisanship and compromise on immigration, won in South Carolina, proving that voters appreciate conviction. That win is being spun as a defeat for the Tea Party by those claiming Brat’s win to be a Tea Party success.

Political spin is everywhere and it is getting harder and harder to know what is and what isn’t. Our watchdog “fourth estate” stopped watching and is now part of the problem. We have a dysfunctional government led by a runaway administration backed by a sycophantic media. Voters need to look behind the curtain of propaganda to fully understand what is going on both here and around the world – and bring an end to this mess. If not, that curtain will solidify into an iron curtain, repeating a history – a history no longer taught in our progressive schools.

It not only can happen here – it IS happening here.

Here Comes the Immigration Reform Farce

April 11, 2013

A bipartisan group of senators is ready to put forth a so-called “broad” immigration bill that is nothing but a farce. In today’s skewed political climate, “bipartisan” is only mentioned when conservatives cave in to the loud, shrill demands of the left. If a liberal moves to the right, he is called a traitor, a racist, or much worse, but never “bipartisan”.

Amnesty, the only goal of progressives’ immigration reform, is on the way. The “bipartisan” demand to secure the borders first, an absolute necessity before real immigration reform can begin, was given lip service and then watered-down to appease the “bipartisan” senators who will now pretend they fought hard for, and won, a working compromise.

The bill allows ten years of planning and/or securing the borders before any real impediment to citizenship can be put into place for failing to comply. Meanwhile, a path to citizenship for illegals will begin immediately with nothing to stop it from morphing into full-blown amnesty. In the span of ten years with little border security, that “path” to citizenship will become a fully paved, toll-free, four-lane, busy highway.

True comprehensive immigration reform is impossible until the borders are secure. Therefore, other immigration reforms will not even become a topic for discussion. One of those other reforms in need of addressing is assimilation.

According to a Hudson Institute’s comparison study of native-born to naturalized American citizens, native-born Americans are: 30% more likely to consider themselves American rather than citizens of the world; 30% more likely to believe the U.S. Constitution is a higher legal authority than international law; 31% more likely to believe schools should focus on American citizenship rather than ethnic pride; and 23% more likely to believe all citizens understand English.

Assimilation allowed the US to become a successful “melting pot” never before seen in the history of the world. We have become a less cohesive society the more we have ignored the importance of assimilation. We can’t realistically address this or other reforms until the borders are secure. This latest bill is a farce, reforms nothing, and opens the door to chaos.

Need for Immigration Reform is Critical

August 17, 2012

Cities with dwindling populations are attracting immigrants in an attempt to reverse the downward trend and re-establish growth. Recognizing that this country was built with immigrants, it is certainly admirable for cities to assist immigrants in getting established and benefit from offering them the opportunity to better their lives. However, ignoring immigration laws in the process helps no one and makes true immigration reform unreachable.

Baltimore is one of the many cities courting immigrants to reverse years of population loss, but Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake signed an order prohibiting police and social agencies from asking anyone about immigration status. This was clearly intended to encourage illegal immigrants to settle in Baltimore and that is succeeding to the extent that Baltimore has become a “sanctuary city”.

Refusal to enforce immigration laws is Obama’s personal policy and, unfortunately, that has emboldened others to follow suit. With Obama’s tacit approval, immigration reform has been re-defined and accepted as “amnesty” by progressives. His campaign promise of immigration reform has not only been broken, it has been replaced with backdoor machinations granting amnesty and executive directives stopping the enforcement of existing immigration laws.

With top-down validation such as this, progressive mayors and city officials have no incentive to curb illegal immigration or any of their personal agendas. A free-for-all atmosphere concerning immigration policy has been created and a general disregard of the law is being encouraged. Ignoring laws leads to chaos, and we are fast approaching that state.

It is true that the vast majority of illegal immigrants are not dangerous criminals, but allowing illegal immigrant populations to grow with impunity attracts those who are dangerous and crime rises as a result. This also creates an atmosphere many long-time residents find undesirable and their exodus begins, leaving behind mostly immigrants, both legal and illegal, with no basis for assimilation. Society suffers further fracturing as a result.

We need real comprehensive immigration reform. Obama must be held accountable for not only failing to deal with it, but for worsening the problem with his lawless backing of a personal agenda. There can be no rational reform with Obama in the White House.
