Shove Your Apology

June 24, 2017

Johnny Depp, the latest idiot celebrity to spew stupid political vehemence, has offered an apology for publicly insinuating that it’s time again for an actor to assassinate a president. He can shove that apology you-know-where.

Following in the footsteps of so many other dumb Hollywood celebrities, Depp offered his asinine political opinion as if he actually knew what he was talking about. He doesn’t. He let the adoration of a crowd of fans deceive him into believing that they need to hear his political views because…well…because he’s a celebrity and everything he does or says is profound.

Finding that advocating the assassination of the president is not acceptable to those outside his bubble, he tried to walk it back with a lame apology. That falls as flat as Kathy Griffin’s semi-apology for proudly holding up a decapitated head of president Trump. Both tried to pass ignorant behavior off as a joke but with so many left-wing fanatics crossing the line into violence, there is no humor to be found.

There have been far too many self-righteous celebrities shooting off their mouths, crossing lines of civility, and then apologizing when they find it damaging to their image. There have also been far too many accepting those apologies, allowing them to get away with it. They need to be held accountable.

Sincerity is an essential element of an apology and there has been very little sincerity in apologies from celebrities crossing the line of decency. There has only been fear for their careers. Depp should shove his apology and silently suffer the consequences. Acting brought him fame and money but acting like an idiot only brings loathing and embarrassment.

Daryl Hall Gets It Right

May 16, 2016

In an interview with Salon, musician Daryl Hall (of Hall & Oates fame) responded to a left field question about “cultural appropriation”, the idea that white people should not appropriate the culture of ethnic and racial minorities. Daryl gave the interviewer a dose of rationality that cut right to the core:

“Are you trying to say that I don’t own the style of music that I grew up with and sing? I grew up with this music. It is not about being black or white. That is the most naïve attitude I’ve ever heard in my life.” When the interviewer said he agreed with him, Daryl responded: “I’m glad that you do, because anyone who says that should shut the f**k up.” Indeed.

After being told it was academia saying that, Daryl said academia was a “hotbed of idiocy”, the most accurate description anyone has ever provided. He further schooled the interviewer:

“Anyone who knows about music, about culture in general, understands that everything is much more natural. Everything is a mixture. We live in America. That’s our entire culture. Our culture is a blend. It isn’t split up into groups. Anyone who says otherwise is a fool – worse than a fool – a dangerous fool.”

In one brilliant statement, Daryl explained the nature of America’s “greatness” and one of the main reasons for the widening divide in our society. Shredding the idea of “cultural appropriation” in music, he exposed the foolishness of the entire concept and made it clear that it has gone too far.

Sane reasoning such as Daryl’s will not sit well with the unreasonable PC crowd, but it needs to be heard. The idea of “cultural appropriation” is very divisive and if left unchallenged, it will infect everything it touches and split the country to a point of no return. It is in direct opposition to the “melting pot” that built this country and could put us on a path to destruction. Sadly, that may very well be its intent.

Thank you, Daryl, for a much needed dose of reality.

A Nation of Pretense

August 26, 2015

We are being driven by a media willfully manipulating public opinion to accept an agenda that is increasingly at odds with reality. Political correctness has become more powerful than the law and unrealistic dreams are a basis for national policy decisions. Everybody pretends it isn’t so.

Hillary Clinton continues to pretend that a right wing conspiracy is responsible for her self-induced e-mail problems even as that ruse unravels further each day. President Obama and his band of incompetent negotiators are pretending that Iran is a legitimate nation acting in good faith even though it is clear to all that Iran cannot be trusted. Black community self-appointed “leaders” pretend there is across-the-board, systematic racism in the entire country’s police force that is resulting in the targeting of innocent black men.

The Pro-choice lobby pretends that a fetus is only a living being if a mother chooses to allow it to be one, a decision that can be made even after it is out of the womb. Until that decision is made, they pretend the fetus is little more than a blob to be cut up and sold for parts.

Celebrities pretend they are political pundits; The wealthy pretend they are not; The poor pretend they have a right to wealth; Liberals pretend to be tolerant; Progressives pretend to be social engineers; Environmentalists pretend alternate energy sources are efficient and economical; The Pope pretends to be a climatologist; Journalists pretend to be objective; open-border lobbyists pretend we don’t need borders; Democrats pretend Obamacare works; and Congress pretends it is competently working for the people.

Donald Trump became a top GOP presidential candidate simply because he does not pretend to be someone he is not. However, he pretends that details of his simple solutions, if they exist, are irrelevant to voters.

In 2016, too many voters will pretend they understand the issues and elect someone who will pretend to understand what needs to be done. We are a nation of pretense.

An Ugly American

March 17, 2015

Hating America is so prevalent among far-left progressives that it seems to have become a requirement. The younger they are, the more vehemently they hate America because their schools were filled with America-bashing academics. Although Harlem-born Azealia Banks never finished high school, she still over-achieved in America-bashing.

In an interview with Playboy, rapper Azealia Banks proudly stated: “I hate everything about this country”. After reading more of her 23-yr-old “wisdom”, it becomes easy to hate everything about her and see her as the epitome of the “Ugly American” many have come to loathe.

She is a young, angry, bisexual, black woman spewing racist remarks while bemoaning racism in society. The hypocrisy eludes her because she is blinded by hatred and a twisted interpretation of…well…of almost everything. “I hate fat white Americans” doesn’t come across to her as anything but a proud, personal indictment of America nurtured in childhood by a mother who taught her that “white people are the devil”.

When declaring “Those little teenage girls who work at Kmart and have a racist grandma — that’s really America”, she reveals deep personal animosity and ignorance. She stereotypes her white fans “who got handed down your grandfather’s estate and you got to keep your grandmother’s diamonds and pearls” and claims she suffers from the “generational effects of Jim Crow”, but it is doubtful she understands the history of Jim Crow.

She says her anger comes from the discrimination she’s felt all her life in this country, but physical and verbal abuse from her mother that forced her to leave home at the age of 14 may be the real culprit. One could almost feel sorry for her but it is hard to do so when she gladly wallows in her ignorance and spits rage in your face gleefully. She only wants to piss you off and in that, she is highly successful.

She angrily declares “As long as I have my money, I’m getting the f— out of here” but, unfortunately, she is still here – just like all the far-left liberals who were going to leave if Bush got elected. Maybe if we all chipped in for plane tickets…

Hollywood Snipes at Sniper Film

January 19, 2015

Stirred by a scathing article in the New Republic by Dennis Jett who admits he has not seen the movie, several members of the Academy of Motion Picture of Arts and Sciences are speaking out against the film “American Sniper” for celebrating a man who they say “seems like he may be a sociopath”.

Lindy West in The Guardian says: “The real American Sniper was a hate-filled killer. Why are simplistic patriots treating him as a hero?” The idea of “simplistic patriots” (who don’t understand the “nuance” of patriotism as liberals do) does not jive with Dennis Jett’s complaint that the film’s trailer (remember, he hasn’t seen the film) “tries to make a straightforward situation more complex than it is”. The hypocrisy, however, is the same.

Those wearing T-shirts sporting the likeness of Che Guevera should not be complaining about treating a killer as a hero. Those wanting convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal released should not be upset about someone in the military killing terrorists. Those too politically correct to call terrorists “radical Islamists” should not be calling a US military sniper a “sociopath”.

In case you somehow missed the left’s hatred of the military in this, the media made sure to publish Michael Moore’s unbiased opinion. He informs us that snipers are cowards, and invaders are worse – the invaders being the evil US military of course. Multi-millionaire Moore is at his liberal best when complaining about millionaires or the country that made it possible for him to become a millionaire. He even qualified his statement to make sure we knew it was only US snipers he was calling cowards.

Many of the same complainers are also upset that “Selma” didn’t receive the Oscar nominations they felt it deserved. Dealing with racism, “Selma” automatically deserved Oscars regardless of whether or not they saw the movie. Some things are a given – just like Hollywood hypocrisy.

Barbara Walters’ Messiah

December 19, 2013

Barbara Walters, when asked by CNN’s Piers Morgan why she didn’t put president Obama on her “Most Fascinating People of 2013” list, revealed buyer’s remorse by answering: “We thought that he was going to be – I shouldn’t say this at Christmastime, but – the next messiah, and the whole Obamacare, or whatever you want to call it, the Affordable Health Act, it just hasn’t worked for him, and he’s stumbled around on it, and people feel very disappointed because they expected more.”

This admission from Walters of religious-like adoration for Obama shatters any remaining illusion one may have had that she is, or was, an objective journalist. Stating that “we thought…” displays her left tilt and believing Obama was going to be “the next messiah” places her firmly in the far-left camp where unconditional adoration is the norm.

Walters caught herself violating talking points and tried to backtrack on using the now-shunned label “Obamacare” by saying “or whatever you want to call it”, but you could see her heart wasn’t in it. Her idealistic idol has fallen and her disappointment could not be contained. It took a long time, five years, for her to finally realize Obama is not a messiah.

It is interesting to note that Walters expressed disappointment that Obamacare “hasn’t worked for Him” rather than because it isn’t working for the country. This is political, religious, and idealistic adoration based on…well…nothing more than a dream. Obama talked a good game, failed to deliver, and she thinks it’s a shame HE is feeling the failure. It would be laughable if the damage to the country wasn’t so serious.

One may give Walters some credit for at least admitting disappointment, but she couldn’t get herself to say Obama failed. Instead, she said he “stumbled around on it” as if this, Obamacare, is just a small bump in an otherwise smooth road. Her choice of Hillary as not only the most fascinating person of 2013, but the most fascinating person of the last 20 years, proves she is already invested in a new messiah, so Obama will now be downgraded in her mind to just a prophet. Who says the left shuns religion?

Miley’s Continuing Proof of Adulthood

November 11, 2013

Miley Cyrus proved to herself, once again, that she is no longer a teeny-bopper. She did this by flaunting her adult body at the 2013 MTV European Music Awards show with more adult twerking and adult tongue wagging accompanied by her adult, little person (once known as a dwarf) sidekick.

This time, Miley made sure all knew she was an adult by lighting up a joint (marijuana cigarette) on stage. Who could doubt her adult status after that? Welcome, Miley, to the mature world of adults. The crowd at the show loved her act, cheering her on to what we all hope will be even more adult behavior at her next public appearance. Miley has successfully shed all remnants of being a role model for young girls.

The next step for Miley’s “creative” transformation needs to be a visit to Cuba where she can praise Castro’s civil rights efforts and his wonderful health and education system. She can then rant against the United States and the evils of capitalism, displaying her adult political acumen before fully passing into adulthood at an expensive, celebrity-filled rehab in the desert.

Thank you, Miley Cyrus, for proving, once again, that “pop culture” is an oxymoron. Five tongues out for Miley!

Miley Cyrus on a Downward Spiral

August 26, 2013

Miley Cyrus, three months short of the age of 21, continued her attempt to shed her teeny-bopper image at the MTV Video Music Awards Show by emulating the sexually explicit performances of those she admires. In the process, she made a fool of herself, proving she is far from the mature, adult performer she longs to be.

The fact that she believes she needs to be sexually over-the-top in her performance in order to advance her career is a clear indication of how sick the pop culture is – and how sick Miley may be because of it. It is also a warning to parents about the influence pop culture has on children and how easily it can erase the values parents work to instill.

Miley’s performance was an obvious attempt to shock the audience as Madonna and Lady Gaga have done in the past. Sadly equating shock with entertainment, Miley may have taken a step backwards, alienating more long-time fans than enticing new ones. Embracing overt sexual display as proof of maturity indicates adolescent confusion and, possibly, a need for professional help. If she was advised to take this route, she may also need new management.

Miley is a product of our sick pop culture, and it is sad to watch her deteriorate. Those who do not see this are part of the problem – and far too many fit that bill.

Stupid Celebrity Boycott

July 23, 2013

Jay Z, Kanye West, Madonna, the Rolling Stones, and several other celebrities have joined Stevie Wonder in boycotting Florida because of Stand Your Ground laws. This will not hurt the state of Florida but it will upset fans and, eventually, hurt the celebrities themselves – and the black community will receive no benefit whatsoever.

To be consistent, which they never are and never will be, these celebrities must boycott half the states in the country because they, too, have Stand Your Ground laws. That would certainly cut into the amount of money these people pull in, so you can be sure it won’t go that far.

This is grandstanding, ignorance, and self-righteousness in a one-act play put on for an adoring media willing to treat them as knowledgeable spokespersons for normal society. The fact that Stand Your Ground laws played no role in the Zimmerman trial is being deliberately ignored because there is nothing else from the trial to realistically hang an idealistically disappointed hat on. Blindness to reality is part of their world to begin with, so this comes easy.

The only ones who will benefit from this boycott are those in Florida who don’t know who many of these pompous asses are, don’t care who they are, and don’t want to see them in the state anyway. When the press dies down and their agents find lucrative bookings in the Sunshine State, this boycott will just quietly go away.

When will we see a boycott of LA over gang warfare? When will we see a boycott of Mexico over illegal border crossings? When will we see a boycott of Hollywood over violence in films? When will we see a boycott of New York City over increasing anti-Semitism? When will we see a boycott of Philadelphia over the Gosnell murders?

Yeah, we all know when that will happen.

You Don’t Think We Are Doomed?

May 8, 2013

A Reader’s Digest Poll provided proof that we are, indeed, doomed. It conducted a poll of 1000 people (how that few people can actually be construed to represent the entire country is perplexing) to find who the most trusted people in the country are. The results are just plain stupid – and frightening.

Number one on the list is Tom Hanks, followed by Sandra Bullock, Denzel Washington, and Meryl Streep. Reading the rest just numbs the senses further. If this country is as enamored with movie stars and celebrities as this poll suggests, it is just a matter of time until we implode from the vacuous mindset that prevails.

Think about this for a second. Movie stars make a living pretending to be someone else or, in other words, making you believe in something that is not real – and this makes them trustworthy in people’s eyes. Following this rationale, it should not be surprising that Obama and Hillary Clinton also showed up on the list, though far below the movie stars.

If you think this is just an anomaly, recall that John Stewart, a comedian, was once deemed the most trusted “newsman” in the country – possibly by the same 1000 people polled for Reader’s Digest. Even if it were the same 1000 people, it would still be frightening to know that many crazy people are loose in society – and their votes count as much as yours does. Further proof of our demise is certain to show up in future polls when the legalization of marijuana becomes widespread.

Yes, we are doomed.
