Shove Your Apology

June 24, 2017

Johnny Depp, the latest idiot celebrity to spew stupid political vehemence, has offered an apology for publicly insinuating that it’s time again for an actor to assassinate a president. He can shove that apology you-know-where.

Following in the footsteps of so many other dumb Hollywood celebrities, Depp offered his asinine political opinion as if he actually knew what he was talking about. He doesn’t. He let the adoration of a crowd of fans deceive him into believing that they need to hear his political views because…well…because he’s a celebrity and everything he does or says is profound.

Finding that advocating the assassination of the president is not acceptable to those outside his bubble, he tried to walk it back with a lame apology. That falls as flat as Kathy Griffin’s semi-apology for proudly holding up a decapitated head of president Trump. Both tried to pass ignorant behavior off as a joke but with so many left-wing fanatics crossing the line into violence, there is no humor to be found.

There have been far too many self-righteous celebrities shooting off their mouths, crossing lines of civility, and then apologizing when they find it damaging to their image. There have also been far too many accepting those apologies, allowing them to get away with it. They need to be held accountable.

Sincerity is an essential element of an apology and there has been very little sincerity in apologies from celebrities crossing the line of decency. There has only been fear for their careers. Depp should shove his apology and silently suffer the consequences. Acting brought him fame and money but acting like an idiot only brings loathing and embarrassment.

Hollywood Snipes at Sniper Film

January 19, 2015

Stirred by a scathing article in the New Republic by Dennis Jett who admits he has not seen the movie, several members of the Academy of Motion Picture of Arts and Sciences are speaking out against the film “American Sniper” for celebrating a man who they say “seems like he may be a sociopath”.

Lindy West in The Guardian says: “The real American Sniper was a hate-filled killer. Why are simplistic patriots treating him as a hero?” The idea of “simplistic patriots” (who don’t understand the “nuance” of patriotism as liberals do) does not jive with Dennis Jett’s complaint that the film’s trailer (remember, he hasn’t seen the film) “tries to make a straightforward situation more complex than it is”. The hypocrisy, however, is the same.

Those wearing T-shirts sporting the likeness of Che Guevera should not be complaining about treating a killer as a hero. Those wanting convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal released should not be upset about someone in the military killing terrorists. Those too politically correct to call terrorists “radical Islamists” should not be calling a US military sniper a “sociopath”.

In case you somehow missed the left’s hatred of the military in this, the media made sure to publish Michael Moore’s unbiased opinion. He informs us that snipers are cowards, and invaders are worse – the invaders being the evil US military of course. Multi-millionaire Moore is at his liberal best when complaining about millionaires or the country that made it possible for him to become a millionaire. He even qualified his statement to make sure we knew it was only US snipers he was calling cowards.

Many of the same complainers are also upset that “Selma” didn’t receive the Oscar nominations they felt it deserved. Dealing with racism, “Selma” automatically deserved Oscars regardless of whether or not they saw the movie. Some things are a given – just like Hollywood hypocrisy.

PC Idiotic Denial

January 15, 2015

Aided by politically correct useful idiots, radical Islamists are winning their war of terror. While President Obama and the liberal media remain terrorized over labeling the killers “radical Islamists”, saner people around the world are becoming more terrorized by the increasing denial on display.

Even after al Qaeda proudly claimed responsibility for the Paris attacks, blame continues to be spread to everyone but Islamic terrorists. Israel is being blamed by former president Jimmy Carter; Abu Ghraib is being blamed by David Rothkopf of Foreign Policy magazine; the President of Turkey is blaming French security forces; Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is blaming Western leaders; University of London professor Gilbert Achcar is blaming the US; and, of course, some French Muslims are blaming “shape-shifting Jews”.

One would think that France’s tough gun laws would keep the anti-gun crowd on the sidelines in the wake of the Paris attack, but Hollywood’s Liam Neeson couldn’t help himself. He took this opportunity to come out screaming about “too many guns out there”. He also refused to accept that violence in movies has any influence violence in society. Liam is bathed in PC denial on many levels.

CNN unconditionally surrendered to the terrorists without a fight by refusing to show the latest cover of Charlie Hebdo, declaring: “…it is our policy not to show potentially offensive images of the prophet”. CNN has no problems with the infamous “piss Christ” or cartoons ridiculing Jewish people. It’s just the prophet they fear offending. The recent religious ruling from a Saudi cleric forbidding the building of snowmen (because they are anti-Islamic) will surely bring more protective pixelating from CNN.

Idiotic PC adherents fear offending Muslims much more than they fear terrorist attacks. The Obamedia continually frets over it and tries hard to deny radical Islamists have any association with Islam. With protection such as this, is it any wonder terrorists are winning?

Miley’s Continuing Proof of Adulthood

November 11, 2013

Miley Cyrus proved to herself, once again, that she is no longer a teeny-bopper. She did this by flaunting her adult body at the 2013 MTV European Music Awards show with more adult twerking and adult tongue wagging accompanied by her adult, little person (once known as a dwarf) sidekick.

This time, Miley made sure all knew she was an adult by lighting up a joint (marijuana cigarette) on stage. Who could doubt her adult status after that? Welcome, Miley, to the mature world of adults. The crowd at the show loved her act, cheering her on to what we all hope will be even more adult behavior at her next public appearance. Miley has successfully shed all remnants of being a role model for young girls.

The next step for Miley’s “creative” transformation needs to be a visit to Cuba where she can praise Castro’s civil rights efforts and his wonderful health and education system. She can then rant against the United States and the evils of capitalism, displaying her adult political acumen before fully passing into adulthood at an expensive, celebrity-filled rehab in the desert.

Thank you, Miley Cyrus, for proving, once again, that “pop culture” is an oxymoron. Five tongues out for Miley!

Separation of Hollywood and State Needed

February 25, 2013

From the White House, Michelle Obama presented the Best Picture award at this year’s Academy Award ceremony. It is the first time a president or first lady presented an academy award, but it certainly isn’t the first time the White House used Hollywood. That has been occurring frequently the past several decades, but Obama has taken it to a level screaming for some of the attention separation of church and state receives.

Hollywood is universally known to tilt left and in recent years, many celebrities have used their popularity to speak out in favor of left-leaning politicians and policies. The mainstream media, also left-leaning and infatuated with Hollywood, indulges these celebrities with air time as if they were political experts, creating a false sense of a majority acceptance that highly influences many voters’ opinions.

Michelle’s Academy Award appearance topped off years of Obama’s blatant use of Hollywood’s partisanship. His election and re-election were aided enormously by Hollywood celebrities and his continued appearances on entertainment TV shows are used to bolster favorability ratings in the polls, not to inform the public.

In April of 2012, Barack and Michelle were credited with a total of 195 TV and movie appearances, surpassing those of President Reagan and his wife Nancy (both former actors). In his short political career, Obama has appeared seven times on the “Letterman Show”, five times on “The View” (once with Michelle who also appeared four times on her own), six times on “The Daily Show”, and five times on “Leno”.

In 2007, Oprah, the most powerful celebrity in the country, openly backed Obama’s candidacy on her show, hosted a 1500-guest fundraiser, and made four campaign appearances. Her endorsement is considered to be the major reason that Obama, an unknown, became the Democratic presidential candidate instead of Hillary Clinton. Obama learned well.

The White House visitor logs are highly populated with Hollywood celebrity names, and some have even taken part in supposedly serious policy-setting meetings. It is not for the good of the nation. It is only for the political good of Obama. Separation of Hollywood and State is in need of a national discussion before the president and the White House become a reality TV show. Or is it already too late?

Michelle is Superwoman?

December 7, 2012

Celebrity Samuel Jackson continues to be quoted by a media enamored with his political acumen. It was Jackson, if you remember, who unabashedly admitted that he voted for Obama because he was black, “…Cause that’s why other folks vote for other people”. His honesty was admired by the media as strongly as his ignorance was ignored. Sadly, his vacuous reasoning continues to be a media favorite.

Jackson recently proclaimed: “Michelle is Superwoman. What can’t she do?…She can be on the Supreme Court and anywhere else she wants. She can be the president. She’s history and she’ll stay history because she is so amazingly smart and together.” The basis for this acute assessment is wishful thinking, the driving force behind much of liberal progressivism.  The media loves it because they, too, believe it.

If you think that Jackson’s rave is just one celebrity’s nonsensical blather, you are mistaken. According to a survey done by Public Policy Polling, Mrs. Obama leads over Sen. Mark Kirk 51 to 40 percent, should she choose to challenge Kirk in 2016 for an Illinois senate seat. Repetition of Michelle’s imaginary accomplishments is working as it did for her husband.

Before anyone heard of junior Senator Barack Obama and before he accomplished anything, his superior intelligence and presidential qualifications were repeated as fact by liberal progressives. These “elites” treat anyone who shares their views as intelligent, and one preaching those views is automatically considered “superior”. Such is the self-absorption of progressives and they are now using the same repetition tactic to advance Michelle.

And why not? The public is still susceptible to it. By aggressively and loudly stating views while shouting down and demeaning anyone who disagrees, progressives have cowed the silent majority into submissiveness. When the progressive view is the only view the media treats positively, people begin to believe it is the right view. People naturally want to be on the winning side and when progressives claim often enough to be winning, it becomes accepted.

As with so many other forced “isms” throughout history, progressivism will not last. Unfortunately, it has already damaged the country beyond repair. Maybe superwoman Michelle will save us. Samuel Jackson certainly thinks she can, and he should know. Right?

Charlie Sheen – The Hollywood Addict

February 15, 2011

In a phone call to a talk radio show, Charlie Sheen, fresh out of rehab (again), said he had no intention of mending his ways. He proudly admitted: “I was sober for five years a long time ago and was just bored out of my tree”. Making even a bigger fool of himself, he added: “If you can manage it (crack) socially, then go for it, but not a lot of people can, you know”. That, of course, includes Charlie who can’t handle it.

Bragging about and glorifying drug and alcohol abuse is standard behavior for addicts and Charlie Sheen certainly qualifies as a typical addict. The irrational world of the addict revolves around drugs and everyone who does not take drugs seems odd and out of place. The addict, unable to fit into society, deludes himself into thinking his world is the only one with merit. Visions of grandeur can also invade the addict’s mind and Charlie is certainly exhibiting those, too.

Charlie’s “boredom” is another thing common with addicts (due to well-understood neurological effects) and it is often an excuse to continue using drugs. Addicts have tons of excuses for continued drug use and Charlie is no different. It is sad, however, that the producers of his TV show, “Two and a Half Men”, also make excuses for continuing to bring him back. It would be a rare, and much needed, display of moral integrity for them to cancel that show or replace him. Charlie has already been given too many chances.

If Charlie does not finally see the light and begin his recovery, he will die from his addiction. There is no other outcome for an addict as intent on self-abuse as Charlie seems to be. He won’t be the first and, sadly, he won’t be the last. Hollywood breeds and often encourages self-indulgence and that is an ideal, fertile ground for addiction. He has already lost the ability to distinguish right from wrong. It would be nice, however, if he would keep it to himself instead of broadcasting it to all.
