Obamigration Update

February 10, 2015

President Obama, using executive orders and presidential memoranda, is fully engaged in changing, ignoring, and creating immigration laws as he sees fit. He has essentially given millions of illegal aliens immunity from deportation and, as a result, many more are flooding our border to take part in Obamigration.

Efforts to seal our border are practically non-existent and rather than trying to protect our country from the danger of criminals entering illegally, Homeland Security is setting up hotlines to help protect illegal immigrants who believe their rights have been violated. The Mexican government is doing its part by having its consulates in the U.S. issue birth certificates to Mexican citizens to help them squeeze whatever they can from our government.

It is not just Mexicans and South Americans coming here illegally. Since 2010, there has also been a 217% increase in Cubans crossing through our southern border because it is much easier and safer than any ocean passage. This will, no doubt, increase further due to president Obama’s normalizing relations with Cuba. Fanatic Islamic terrorists, too, are well aware of our porous southern border but that, as well as their very existence, is being denied.

As more Americans become alarmed, Obama has accelerated rather than curbed his personal immigration plan. His newest plan will allow illegals here to bring their children, their adult children, their grandchildren and even step-parents into the United States. It will also allow current unmarried illegals to marry someone in Central America then sponsor them for US citizenship.

The icing on Obama’s amnesty cake will come via the IRS. Illegal aliens benefiting from Obama’s amnesty plan will receive tax credits for as many as three years that they worked here illegally. In other words, they will not only be allowed to stay and get fast-tracked for American citizenship, they will be rewarded for having been here illegally.

Welcome to the “transformation of America”. You are obviously a racist if you do not like it.

Ferguson, Obama, and “Your” Laws

November 24, 2014

Consequences of President Obama’s top-down attitudes on racism and the rule of law are evident in Ferguson where protestors are ignorantly shoutingwe don’t give a f**k about your laws”. That pretty much mirrors what the American public has been hearing from the White House.

Obama’s knee-jerk reactions to racially sensitive issues set a tone for the black community that has resulted in increased racial tensions in the country. Expectations of a “post-racial” era were dashed early in Obama’s first term when he took a hasty anti-police stance in the Harvard Professor Gates incident. His racial knee jerked again in the Trayvon Martin incident and sending Holder to Ferguson provided a presidential stamp of approval for turning Michael Brown’s death into a racial schism.

His disregard for the law has been on display with his willingness to ignore, skirt, and re-define immigration laws and his back-room negotiations have underscored his scorn for the “transparency” he once promised. Using executive orders to get his way shows how he feels about “your” laws, the same laws protesters “don’t give a f**k about”.

The use of “your laws” by the protesters exemplifies the disassociation and disrespect Obama displayed for this country and its laws with his “apology tour”. Once he solidified and legitimized that attitude, it was adopted by many admirers in the black community and it now fuels the Ferguson fiasco.

Disregard for the law from the top cannot help but have dire consequences. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen the last of those consequences.

When “Rights” are Wrong

September 4, 2014

In a Labor Day speech, Obama brought up the idea of “rights” for illegal immigrants. This goes far beyond amnesty. It is an attempt to sanction and even legalize the illegality of sneaking across our border, insinuating that everyone has a “right” to come here, even illegally.

The country is currently experiencing chaos and economic stress due to Obama’s refusal to enforce immigration laws. More than 70,000 children have illegally crossed the border this year and are being sent to states for shelter, benefits, and schooling without even notifying those states. In 2013 there were 36,000 illegals awaiting deportation proceedings released from detention, many who were convicted of serious and violent crimes, and ICE declined to bring immigration charges against 68,000 other illegal alien criminals who were detained and released.

School systems across the country are being flooded with illegal immigrant children causing economic stress to the point of possible bankruptcy. It has been estimated that it will cost $760 million dollars this year to pay for their education. When you add the estimated $252/day it costs to care for each child, the total cost to taxpayers this year is estimated to be $2 billion dollars.

In spite of this impact, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, head of the Democratic National Committee, said illegals are “part of the backbone of our economy”; AFL-CIO union president Richard Trumka said he would like to see “affirmative action” for illegal immigrants; and Democratic candidate for governor of NY, Zephyr Teachout, said she wants state citizenship for illegals. What they really want is votes (and unions want their dues), but that’s hidden between the lines.

Bowing to Obama’s de facto amnesty policy, immigration court judges are setting hearing dates four years into the future while deported illegal aliens are even being invited back for reconsideration. A recently signed Memorandum of Understanding with Mexico ensures Mexican Nationals will have workplace rights regardless of their immigration status.

Considering that the net job growth in North Carolina since 2000 went to immigrants, both legal and illegal, the idea of “rights” for illegal immigrants is an insult to native-born citizens, especially those who lost their jobs in Obama’s failing economy. Sadly, it has become common practice for Obama to insult traditional Americans and international allies. It’s all part of his “transformation of America”.

Immigration Insanity

June 9, 2014

President Obama has instituted a foolish immigration policy based on nothing more than idealistic, personal feelings. This is aggravating ongoing immigration problems, creating new ones, and sending a message to the world that crossing the border illegally is the easy way to immigrate to the U.S. and receive government benefits. It is insanity.

Obama made it clear to U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) that many immigration laws currently on the books should not be enforced. He then issued an executive order halting deportation of young illegal immigrants. He has set a personal policy in place that is snowballing into a nightmare.

Border officials and family and immigration court systems are now overwhelmed with children traveling without parents crossing into the U.S at our Southwest border. There has been a 92% increase over last year (47,000 caught since October) of children illegally crossing the border, a direct result of Obama’s executive order. It is predicted that there will be 60,000 or more children caught crossing the border this year.

To deal with this influx, the administration is now going to provide lawyers for these children, helping them fight our laws to remain in the country. This is in addition to having to provide food and shelter. It is certainly admirable, and necessary, to provide aid for these helpless children, but they have been put in jeopardy by Obama’s executive order. Creating a border crossing free-for-all enticed desperate parents to allow their children to set out on such a perilous and illegal journey.

Illegal immigration problems have been exasperated by Obama’s supplanting of existing laws with his own laws. Furthermore, refusal to secure the border, a pre-requisite for reform, continues to be his administration’s stance in discussions of reform. The results of his policies are pouring in across our borders.

We must stop the insanity by sealing the border and allowing real reform, not just amnesty, to be discussed. How much more damage will be incurred before that happens?
