Deaf and Dumb Democrats

December 4, 2016

Democrats are understandably still stunned and upset over Trump’s win but that is no excuse for continuing to be politically deaf and dumb concerning the reasons for losing and the lessons that should be evident.

The re-election of Nancy Pelosi as House minority leader shows a complete denial of the Democrats’ need to change. Pelosi blindly backed the Obama administration, often making a fool of herself with inane explanations and excuses. Her major contribution to her party has been her ability for fund-raising but one of the lessons from this election is that money isn’t everything. Pelosi has the same elitist arrogance that turned people away from Hillary and it will now continue to be a bane for Democrats.

Trump’s election showed that identity politics is no longer an acceptable way to govern because it disenfranchised and demeaned a large portion of the population. Far too many Democrats are unwilling to accept that the tail can no longer wag the dog. Recounting votes and looking for ways to derail Trump before he takes office is not productive.

In full denial, President Obama blamed Trump’s win on FOX News foolishly stating that it is “in every bar and restaurant in big chunks of the country”, places he has obviously not visited in quite some time. Others are blaming the media (which was totally in the tank for Hillary), Jill Stein, James Comey, white supremacy, Facebook, Twitter, misogyny, racism, conspiracies, voter suppression, the Electoral College – anything other than identity politics, a runaway progressive agenda, or obsession with social issues.

Democrats rail against any mention of a “mandate” because Hillary had more popular votes but they are ignoring the many other GOP victories in this and the past mid-term elections. They refuse to acknowledge clear indications that the tide has turned and if they remain deaf and dumb, they will become less and less relevant. The country needs both parties. Democrats need to wake up.

Obama Gave Iraq to Al Qaeda

January 8, 2014

It was always known that Al Qaeda would attempt to fill the void in Iraq if we pulled out, but Obama wanted all U.S. troops, equipment, and bases removed in order to appease his far-left voting base and his own ideology. Iraq is now in serious trouble as Al Qaeda is doing exactly as predicted.

The removal of our ideally situated military bases of operation in the Middle East was overkill in Obama’s withdrawal and it is already proving to be a huge mistake. Secretary of State John Kerry just pledged to help Iraq in its fight against Al Qaeda but was adamant that it wouldn’t include troops. When Iraq asked for help in November, the administration sent a miserly 75 Hellfire missiles and promised (If you like these missiles, you can keep them?) to dispatch drones. So what will Kerry offer now?

Kerry gave no details about the “help” he promised because he has no idea. It was just a sound bite. Offering Air support would be helpful since Iraq has no air force, but with no base of operations, it would be difficult and very costly. Lack of a base in the region will also come back to haunt us if the Middle East explodes, a distinct possibility when Israel finds itself having to stop Iran from going nuclear.

Over 4,400 U.S. troops died in the Iraq War freeing Iraqis from Saddam Hussein. Our complete withdrawal abandoned Iraq to fend for itself when it was not capable of doing so. It would be an understatement to say that our troops are not pleased with this result.

Obama didn’t think about the consequences of abandoning Iraq just as he didn’t think about the consequences of Obamacare. He only thought about winning politically. He gave Iraq to Al Qaeda by following his “superior intelligence” rather than following advice from experts. In the same manner, he is giving away the American Dream with his “transformation of America”.

Please vote in November to begin stopping the damage.

Fed Up

October 17, 2013

After signing the recent debt deal, President Obama said: “The American people are completely fed up with Washington…Nothing has done more to undermine our economy these last three years than the kind of tactics that create these manufactured crises.” He then credited “Democrats and responsible Republicans for reaching the deal, making sure to take a swipe at Republicans.

This is the way Obama has “governed” since elected, pretending to be above it all when the reality is that everything is above him. His “superior intelligence” has yet to make an appearance and he is indifferent, if not outright ignorant, to consequences of his constant political maneuverings. Blame never reaches his pedestal.

This recent fiasco (“manufactured crisis”) was created and exasperated by Obama’s obstinate refusal to compromise on anything. The press and the Democratic Party have given him whatever he wanted and he now expects to get his way, like any spoiled child. His entire focus centers on his personal agenda and little else matters.

This attitude, like a thick fog, has engulfed Congressional Democrats who now believe that they, too, are infallible and above all criticism – just like Obama. The mainstream media backs them up on this belief and assures the public that it is so. All opposition is evil and everything Obama wants to do is only for the good of the American people.

Yes, the American people are certainly fed up. American people are fed up with this country’s economic decline; loss of world respect; moral decay of society; disregard for the common good; disintegration of the family unit; lack of political leadership; erosion of the American Dream; political correctness; attacks on religion; disrespect for the military; being talked down to by the president; and the general malaise that “progressive” ideology created.

Vote intelligently in November. It may be the last chance to turn this around.
